Hi,
I used to be depressed as well. My brain shut down and I couldn't think. I must have taken every prescribed drug out there from Zoloft to Prozac. I used to self medicate myself with marijuana, but the one thing that brought me out of the box was eating 2~3 grams of mushrooms. It helped me analyze myself and helped me find out what was wrong with my life. It brought on a new perspective onto my life. I think the one thing that helped me was finding purpose in my life. I gave myself a purpose and gave myself a reason to live for tomorrow. Getting out of depression is a long process. You need to get stronger and get off your dependency off of drugs and find things that stimulate your mind. Find something that you love to do. Find something that you enjoy doing that's healthy. I didn't know what that was so I practically tried everything from skate boarding, cycling, surfing, getting into knitting, painting, arts and crafts, guitar, piano, drums, gardening, cooking, etc. There's a whole world out there for you. Find love in everything you do because everything you do is amazing! Humans before the invention of anti-depressant pills dealt with the problems on their own. Depression wasn't even a world until the doctors used it to make millions of dollars of money to have people get dependent on the drug. Have strength in yourself and you should be able to get out of your hole.
Focus on yourself. Love yourself. Meditate on what you think. Follow your thoughts. Meditate on your breath. Meditate on what you say. Become aware of yourself. Become aware of what you feel. You are in control of yourself. Don't be too hard and judgmental on yourself. You are your own worst critic. Control yourself. Become aware. Become enlightened. Empower yourself. Be strong. Live life to the fullest. Don't let these things pull you down. Life is not a burden. Life should be a dance.
To answer your question you should look up MAOI, but it would be extremely fatal mix with SSRIs so I would strongly advise against it. Just read the Wikipedia and you'll find out it's not good for you.
MAOIs should not be combined with other psychoactive substances (antidepressants, painkillers, stimulants, both legal and illegal etc.) except under expert care. Certain combinations can cause lethal reactions, common examples including
SSRIs, tricyclics,
MDMA,
meperidine,
tramadol, and
dextromethorphan. Agents with actions on epinephrine, norepinephrine, or dopamine must be administered at much lower doses due to potentiation and prolonged effect.
Take some vitamin C and get some exercise 1 hr a day. It'll turn your life around. Good luck my friend. I wish the best for your life.
Jai Ma!
