Well Swim has always been a drug addict always opiates and therefore has been on and off suboxone for years. Swim has recently obtained 35 suboxone strips to ween down and taper. The problem is that Swim is stupid and now only has 5 left. Swim needs help on taper. Swim was going to take 4 mg a day for a week, 2 mg a day for a week then 1mg a day for a week. Also Swim also aquired 90 zanaflex or (tizanidine) 4 mg, 90 clonodin .1 mg and Also have Vistaril (hydroxyzine 50mg) also 80 clonazepam .5mg (But Swim takes them daily so there not much help) Need advice because Swim feels like he has the right tools to succed in detoxing almost painlessly but doesn't know how much of what to take and when. Once He has two weeks no opiates He will be happy, so please any advice.

Thanks you very much

Well swim would first have to know how much opiates swiy takes on a normal day. Also, one must acknowledge there is no such thing as a painless withdrawal. All of the medications mentioned only ease the primary withdrawal effects, like the rapid heart feeling and mental anguish of the process. Swim would recommend using exactly what was prescribed to swiy, because abusing the tools of detox will only lead to more trouble. When swim detoxed, Immodium and Dramamine were swims' best friends. Swiy must stay in the mindset that it will all be over within days, and the body is merely healing itself. After all, what goes up must come down. Depending on the opiate swiy takes, swiy is going to experience different intensities of withdrawal, but must know that no matter how painful the experience is, swiy will NOT die. If swiy handles the major effects (like diarrhea and nausea) and keeps a positive mindset, swiy WILL get through it. There are plenty of fish out there willing to help a problem like this, but this is swim's take on the situation. Swim will be checking out how swiy is doing.

Swim wishes swiy good luck in the process! Remember, addiction is a DISEASE, not swiy's fault.

NO Swimming Allowed !!

It is explicitly stated in the rules that SWIM is not allowed to be used on this site.. It does absolutely nothing to protect you in a legal situation. Also it is very annoying to read, and we all know it is YOU who you are referring to.

No Running By The Pool !

Edit - Here is a link to the thread called Addicted? Need Help?

Thanks for the support. But to the person that just complained and bitched about my "swimming" I hope you realized that when someone young asks for heroin help and you spend time bitching and being negative to some one looking for help. YOU just wasted both our time. I think SWIM thinks that SWIY is an douche

Thank you

^there are lots of resources in the Other Drugs directory on withdrawal and even more that you can easily access by searching. There's really no reason to be disrespectful when someone informs you that you broke the rules. In the future, please don't use swim and don't call people 'douches'. If you were legitimately concerned about his and your time, you wouldn't have bothered to respond wasting more of his and your time (and now mine as well ;)).

Please familiarize yourself with the guidelines of the forums that you're posting in and feel free to PM me if you have any questions and I'll help in any way that I can :)

For starters, this thread is pretty much the Bible on getting through withdrawal.

Also, regarding the emotional and psychological aspects, The Dark Side forum is an excellent place to find support.
