Heroin Need help on injecting

Hello!

Usually I smoke my h but since I am about to run out, I need to get the most out of it.
Theoretically, I know how to inject but yesterday this happened:


please help me from preventing this again. Is there a detailed guide on how to do it right?

The vein on my inner arm where you have the biggest bruise always hurts and bruises really bad like that even when I don't miss.

If you want try to you the vein on the outer side of the inner arm above the crook not under. The skin is really thin below the crook and is reall bad for injecting. Always register.
 
damn in 6 years of injecting heroin ive never had a bruise like that, however that small vein i think he tried to hit i have seen bruise a little bit
 
About 4 hours ago, I tried again and had no problems at all - Just coming back from a very nice and long nod :)

Are you using a clean needle every time? Dull needles, even ones only used a couple of times, can destroy your arms. Also, what gauge needle are you using? You shouldn't be using anything bigger than a 28 gauge, and even that is too big for a lot of people.
 
Well I guess it's cu I'm a girl idk but I have very sensitive skin and my veins are right on top so even in my arms I use a short tip 31 and I have minimal bruising but if I use a 29 in my arms it looks ridiculous..

Btw Its been two days since a shot for me so go me :)
 
What you are seeing in the picture is blood pooling on the side of her arm. It is caused by the vein having a small gap and bleeding inside the tissues. I have seen this a lot with people who have delicate veins and skin. It will go away.
 
WOW, how the hell did you manage that? I would suggest abandoning the injecting idea all together the heavenly high isn't worth it in the end.
 
Make sure to use a new needle for every injection. It makes a world of difference when it comes to bruising, and is also a lot safer since once you use a syringe it is no longer sterile which increases your chances of getting abscesses if you miss your shot with a used syringe.
 
I dont think you save heroin by injecting. Yeah, you get higher off less but it lasts a lot shorter. If youre trying to stave off withdrawal, snorting/smoking would likely be the better route.

what do you consider the "high" the initial rush? cause yeah you're right the rush is short, but the high that follows isn't all that short, it's got some legs in my opinion. if i'm trying to maintain a high i shoot every 4 to 5 hours (depending on dose). now compare that to hydromorphone where i have to shoot every couple hours to maintain a high. also with dope, if i'm trying to conserve and wait til i'm starting to feel my withdrawals to shoot again i can wait 6 to 8 hours sometimes even longer if i HAVE to (again depending on previous dose and in the case patience too lol)

http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/heroin/heroin_dose.shtml <- shows dosage and duration of overall effects. the dosages (as explained in the link) are for pure heroin, but regardless if you managed to get say 60mg's out of what you shoot the effects will still last 4-5 hours (also shown in the link). the link states smoking has a shorter duration of 3-5 hours, which i can attest to because i used to smoke my heroin for many years before switching to IV (been using this ROA for approx. 8 months). you are correct in stating that, for most, you end up blowing through more dope because you're chasing the rush, not the high.

Also, duration is strongly related to tolerance and dose. no matter your preferred ROA.
