Hello bluelight,

Firstly, I apologize because I know there are a lot of kratom threads but actually when you google "kratom for opiate withdrawal" there really aren't too many. I've been using heroin for two years and I've had enough of it. Everybody in my life thinks im clean and I'm about to blow everything I have going for me. I'm starting to look thin and pale and just sick all the time and I NEED to stop. Well, a week ago I bought 8 oz of premium bali powder it was 90 dollars for 8 oz and i thought "that should be enough to get clean, and then some" but when I get it i was surprised how small the bag was. that's not the problem though.

A few years ago before I ever got into touching heroin or opiates I bought kratom and was drinking it like a maniac. My girlfriend recalls the week of kratom I had as a horrible week for her because apparently i was fucked up the whole time and sleeping a lot.

I was under the impression that kratom was a great cure for opiate withdrawal. Now when I search it people are saying it's weak and does nothing. Another bgi problem is it's pretty hard to get down without pacing around convincing myself not to throw it all up. I'm out of money and i dont even have enough to buy loperamide which is very well for getting rid of physical symptoms. I'm also expecting 90 300 mgs of gabapentin in the mail hopefully tommorow and thats the best drug for withdrawal for me because it puts me in agood mood and gives me energy.

My heroin habit isn't too bad. I basically need a big a day to get fixed but it's been elevating and ive been doing a lot more to stay high.

I've always thought that my withdrawal symptoms were different than normal peoples. I noticed a lot of people throw up, runny nose, sweating, and stomach pain seem to be the worst symptoms. I never throw up, my nose hardly runs and i dont sweat as much as feel freezing cold. The worst part for me is no sleep, restless legs, and my back/spine aches and all my muscles just ache. all of the aches and pains are what i consider the "hell" of withdrawal. I have plenty of kratom to get through the week. I didn't go out of my way to buy a high extract I just got the regular bali powder.

I will drink a lot if I have to. Does anybody else have experience kicking with kratom? I know when I wake up tommorow with no money or dope I'm gonna have that awful panic attack feeling I always get. I hope the kratom takes care of that and all i really want is to be able to lay around in bed the next few days feeling comfortable enough to relax and watch tv.

If anybody could help me and tell me if this might work i'd appreciate it.

I like that say i am in the same boat as you but i want to be honest my issue is not as bad as you but i sure been tracking backwards over the past 6 months. I was put on valium to help with my stress as i all was felt like i used to help me get threw the day. I just came across Kratom , looks like it could help . I did read with anything you can get hooked on this and as more and more people act stupid and go nuts taking things such as how spice was i could see this becoming banned in your state. I think it is is banned in to us states as of today. I would look into where you get your Kratom from as i heard some places sell crap and going to your local headshop might not be the best bet but i just read a guy say he goes and he might pay a few bucks more but he buys only when he needs it as where on line he feels the need to buy a lot to make up for the delay in shipping and some places offer free shipping. I read some people have had stomach issues , i would do more research and i do not think anyone can say hey go order from this site, i think that is not aloud on here. I know it comes in leaf, power and pill form as far as i know and if you go on youtube there is some videos of people talking about how great the pills are but on here i heard its best to not get them that has me confused. Good luck

on a side note i to over do it with the gabapentin i get it each month from dr 300 mg 120 of them. I take 15-18 with 2 16 oz monsters green can and i get a good feeling. I thought i was the only one who took them . hmm

Yeah, don't worry about kratom; it really is a great tool for opiate withdrawal. The trick is finding the right amount - it only has analgesic properties in the right amount, and that can vary greatly from batch to batch. The amount of mirtaginine (sorry, I don't know the correct spelling) is also gonna vary. This is the drug that's gonna relieve your WD's, and average kratom leaf contains around 0.5%, so expect to use a lot of kratom. A codeine-dependent relative recently kicked with 5 grams of red-veined kratom, but this would be waaay inadequate for your purposes; I've heard of heroin addicts using over 20 grams for relief. You might want to think about not just using kratom alone though; cloniidine and benzodiazepines could really help you here.

Personally, I'm stockpiling the stuff for a future suboxone detox. I'm thinking rather than gradually tapering, to simply stop; this way the bupe will not block the effects of kratom, loperamide, tramadol, some of the drugs I'll be using to assist my detox.

I agree with you pretty much everything i think katom by it's self might not be enough. I take valium and been on clonidine in the past. I was buying suboxon off the street for a good month and i tell ya i ran out and i no lie was sick as a dog wen the day before thanksgiving of this year. I was so sick i could not move i only got up to throw up it was bad . I felt ill into thanksgiving and spent the day in bed, i am not sure how it would be for someone who has taking it for longer then me but i know in ny a dr can only write for 30 and when i was in my last drug program i was afraid to start suboxon as the dr made it like i would have to be in the program for a long time to keep getting my rx for it and to be honest at that time i was out a car and in a bad spot and i just got my self out of that program. I wish you good luck as well

That's it; soon as I realised how sick coming off bupe made me, I was like WTF!? Not blaming my drug people or anything, but at the time they thought it pretty much a golden bullet for opiate addiction, and we're handing them out like sweets. At the time, it was only just being used for opiate dependency, so not a great deal was known about its properties. "There is no withdrawal; it's not a true opiate" was the party line.

Now I've been on it for 8 years, and I know I can't stay on it forever. Before using search and BL, I honestly was dreading coming off of it. Finding out about kratom, lope, etc has actually taken 99.99% of the worry out of it for me.

For me i umm can not sleep even with my sleep meds. I have busy day ahead of me well a busy week and i been feeling kinda sick. Not so much the ill part the mental part has taken over the fact i am low on cash i can not try out Kratom. To be honest i am kinda of unsure it is right for me but this is not my thread the thread starter imo might not get the full relax/chill i think he wants. I Have a love hate with my issue when i have it i love it and when i do not i hate it. I done the group thing , i been to meetings na/aa and some times you have to find ways around your issues and cope . I hope Kartom here an there threw out the week can get me by.

Kratom is a great way to come off heroin. Make sure you get legit krat though off a reputable vendor online , not some shitty headshop Kratom that doesn't work. Id recommend 7-10g every 6 hrs for the first couple days, then slowly drop the dosage. Keaton won't completely take away the withdrawals ( depending on your habit) but it will make a difference. I'd also add in immodium(loperamide) into your taper plan aswell. Imodium can be found at almost any convenient store/drug store/supermarket . It helps stop diarrhea , and it will help with physical withdrawals. I'd take 10-20mg Imodium 3 times a day.
Also, if you can get some benzodiazepines that will help aswell. Don't use the benzodiazepines for more than 2 weeks though or you will have an even worse withdrawal on your hands if u use the benzodiazepines to long.

Some more things you can get is weed(if you normally smoke weed and have a tolerance)gabapentin/lyrica, and an antihistamine like diphenhydramine (benedryl) or hydroxyzine. If you have a tolerance, then the weed will help you sleep , help with physical discomfort and help with anxiety by taking your mind off the withdrawals. Gabapentin or lyrica(pregabalin) are really good for physical and psychological withdrawal symptoms and help ALOT at Mental and physical pain like anxiety and cramps and sweats. The diphenhydramine or hydroxyzine will help you sleep at night . One thing that really helps me aswell is dxm. Some people feel the dxm doesn't help make withdrawals worse, but I have a certain liking for DXM, but I'm biased. I LOVE low doses of dxm (100-250mg dxm)

Things to AVOID that most people say make withdrawal worse : alcohol, amphetamines , cocaine. These drugs might help you during the high, but you will crash SUPER hand and make withdrawals that much worse.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm not sure if I'm aloud to say the vendor on here? after reading this I realized that I might have gotten my kratom from a crappy vendor. To be honest I typed in buy kratom and found "kratora" and that's my vendor if somebody has to delete that go ahead I thought I'd mention where I got it.

I got my script of 90 300mg gabapentin and honestly I couldn't be happier. Tommorow will be the first day I don't use and I plan on taking a lot of gabapentin because it's one of my favorite drugs because it makes me extremely sociable and active. I'm going to take those and if I feel like I'm having symptoms I'll drink some kratom but I have sort of an aversion to the taste of it and I'm afraid it'll make me sick every time I take it now.

Sorry mate, mentioning vendors or sources by name is verboten on this forum; you may want to edit out that vendors name. (Hate it when good threads get closed).

But I agree with you 100%: your choice of vendor is crucial. IME a good vendor will sell only kratom, tend to be very knowledgable about their product, and generally get their product to you as fresh from source as possible. Best thing would be to buy direct from the wholesaler; but this is very tricky, and their are scammers out there, too many of the bastards.

So, never buy from headshops; freshness is not guaranteed, nor is quality. Also, these glorified drug dealers tend to overprice their products. I think people are buying garbage from these sources, and being disappointed, giving a great plant a bad name. Headshops are pond scum IMHO.

^great to hear you're in such an optimistic frame of mind. I hear ya on the repulsive taste of kratom. But tasting it is unnecessary; simple buy some gelatin caps - these hold up to a gram or more of leaf powder, and there is no difference in effect whatsoever. (They just take slightly longer to kick in). Storing in caps also gives your kratom an airtight seal; this is vital for preventing loss of potency. Obviously, it should also be stored out of direct sunlight and in a dark, cool, environment.

Yeah? I've never actually tried the stuff myself, but stockpiling it for a future bupe detox, which is why storage is such an issue to me; I may need to store mine for possibly years.

Obviously, digestion is gonna play into this- first the stomach needs to dissolve those caps, then it has to absorb all of that dry kratom, and that's gonna take some work. I guess washing the caps down with plenty of hot tea or coffee can speed things up here; this tends to work with all capsules and tablets IME and is perhaps the reason so many people brew their kratom into a tea?

Nothing will hit you as "quick and dirty" as tea when dealing with powdered kratom leaves (not extract). However, some people claim that the full kratom experience isn't felt by kratom tea, since you discard the leaves, you are potentially throwing away kratom alkaloids, which can effect the feeling one gets from kratom. For me, I just can't swallow that much plant matter
