Heroin need help ASAP

I just shot up in my left wrist. I couldn't hit anywhere else, so I tried a spot I never hit before.

I'm not a rookie at this, I have been shooting dope for years.

But, when I hit this vein and shot up, my left hand swelled up fast, and I have white blotches all underneath were I tied up.

I have a "1000 needle" feeling in my left hand....kind of like when a body part falls asleep.

The blotches are very prominent....almost looking like hives.

The high wasn't very intense, but it is settling in.

Did I hit an artery? Cotton fever?

It did not hurt when I administered it.

Any help would be great.

If I were in your case, which will never happen, I would use an IV glucose intake system like they use in hospitals where you just plug the needle in your vein, stick it in place with tape and just inject the intake valve as many times as you want to add a substance into your system.
This would prevent puncturing my vein 30x a day...Jesus man...get a hold of yourself.

where did you get the idea that I puncture my veins "30x a day?"

that is not the case.

what happened to me just a bit ago, is the first time it has happened in years.

I can assure you that I am a very responsible heroin user.

I hit my lower wrist because I just got the rest of my sleeve (tatoo's) done. I always switch up were I shoot.

I don't know were you got the idea that I have torn my veins up....cause that is not true.

If you got any input to why this has happened to me, please let me know. If you would like to tell me info about what happened to me, let me know. If you would like to preach to me about shit that didn't happen, volunteer with your local police department's D.A.R.E program.

Why else would you shoot in your wrist...I can think of 10 better places...
 
You MAY have hit an artery, although i could be wrong. If the pins and needles get worse or your hand becomes numb go to the hospital.


You also could have missed the shot because you didn't loosen the tie, causing the dope to spill out of the vein/artery, also, one time when i tied off to tight my arm swelled up in a similar situation from what i came to the conclusion was a bunch of blood that flowed out into my arm after poking through with a shitty set. I got a lump but didn't push the plunger down a single unit, so it had to have been blood. In you're case, it may very well be a combination of an artery/vein bleeding into your wrist/hand AS WELL as the missed shot.

Either way, if it gets worse in ANY way, go the the hospital. Every single person who posts in this thread is going to say it, and there is a reason for that.

The 1000 needle feeling he's describing is probably a lack of oxygen. Happends when I sleep on my arm for long...after some time the arm is just unresponsive, I can't feel it at all when I wake up and I can't move my fingers at all. When I stand up I feel a warn fluid going in and a few seconds after I can shake my fingers. Circulation problem but don't worry, the arm can survive without oxygen for long long time, it's not like the brain. ^_^
 
It just sounds like you had a pretty bad histamine reaction. Take some benadryl, and chill. Report back if anything gets worse.

Dude. You should REALLY quit spewing your bullshit. Honestly. The odds of it being just a histamine reaction are the most likely culprit. I mean, it happens when you inject morphine as well. "Pins & Needles," is commonly used when injecting said substance.

That's all this sounds like. A histamine reaction. If the white blotches ARE hives, guess what? HISTAMINE REACTION!

It's actually getting much better. I just kinda freaked out when it happened.

I think I hit an artery. First time ever.

Where I shot up, there is this weird swollen 3'' by 3'' patch. Not from missing (I have done that many times", but from something else.

MOD'S.....Got any idea's?

If the arm doesn't become unresponsive it's histamine...I talked when the arm DOES become unresponsive...

I'll report back. The pin's and needles are gone....but hive looking blotches are still there,as well the swelling.

Thanks for the info. A histamine reaction sounds like the culprit. That's why I ask this site for info, great information and knowledgeable retorts.
 
If the pins & needles are gone, but the "hive" looking blotches are still there, then it was a histamine reaction. Like I said, take some benadryl, nod out, and enjoy.

If you're concerned, put a warm compress over it for a bit.

Well, it has become fairly clear why you chose the username you did. Nothing like a little trolling huh? How about for Harm Reduction's sake you don't troll on BL. 8)

As far as the OP's original question, I think Law is right. Bad histamine reaction, if you don't get any relief from the Benadryl - please got to the doctor/hospital to get it checked out. But a histamine reaction makes sense.

Can anyone shed light into why this particular time the OP had this bad of a reaction?
 
If you didn't miss then i am almost certain it is blood that leaked because you tied off too hard for too long after puncturing the vein. Like i said, i tied off to hard one time, got a small lump like yourself after punturing a vein, but i hadn't pushed down a single unit so there is nothing it could have possible been other than blood. Don't tie too tight, you only want to stop the vein flowing out of your arm, not the artery flowing in.

Edit: but i could very well be wrong, i am speaking from experience not professional education, as well as the fact that there is no way to "medically examine and diagnos" someone via the internet. The hives could very well be from a histamine reaction, but does anyone know if that would result in a lump? It was red around the area when i leaked blood from tieing off too hard, and it would have been many times worse in his case if it was an artery.

Also a partial miss/blood leakage would result in a slight rush leading you to believe it didn't miss and look almost exactly like what you are describing in my opinion.

And yeah "provoke" ^^, you have no clue. A lack of oxygen IS from a lack of blood flow, and is MUCH more serious than falling asleep in a weird position and having your arm fall asleep. If you're limb goes without oxygen for too long it will most certainly die, it wont just be fine... And thats not relavent either way.

That is correct. When one of your limbs falls asleep it isn't from a lack of blood flow. It actually happens when the position your in pinches a nerve and communication between the brain and said nerve isn't happening.
 
Why would someone get a Histamine Reaction for the first time, in this situation?

Like I said, it has never happened to me before... I don't get it. Anyone know the answer?

There's any numerous reasons as to why he had such a bad histamine reaction this time. Could have been a higher morphine content in the heroin this time or something. Who knows. I mean, all we can really do is speculate, honestly.

Just let it be with, it is what it is. I mean, as long as there's no serious damage done, the swelling is gone, all feeling is regained, and the hives are slowly disappearing. Just call it good.
