I have heard that taking Xanax can mess up the first dose of sub. although I do not believe that is true, I just want to clarify that it is OK to take some Xanax to get through the initial 24 hour waiting Pefiod.thanks in advance for your answers I'm halfway to 24 hours and have been taking xanax to deal with withdrawal symptoms. please reply at your earliest convenience thank you.

I don't see how Xanax would interfere with Suboxone, if anything they will potentiate each other.
The real concern is your tolerance to each substance and safe dosages of each substance. Buprenorphine and Xanax together is a perfect recipe for death if done irresponsibly.
Take a low dose of Xanax and start dosing 1mg of Suboxone every 30-45 minutes until you feel better.
Do not over do it with the Xanax.

Mixing Bupe/benzos can cause CNS depression. Benzos is one of the flags under drug interactions. Why would you even consider mixing the two?
My nephew recently died from xanax/methadone combo. There are risk with these drugs, even if you believe there aren't.

Both Suboxone and Xanax cause CNS depression. Together or individually. It's how they work. Together, if taken irresponsibly, they can cause excessive CNS depression which can lead to death.

It's purely a question of tolerance, assuming no tolerance of each as a baseline; it's an incredibly stupid and dangerous idea. Then - as you increase tolerance of each away from that baseline, you move away from stupid and dangerous accordingly. But it's definitely not safe. And even given existing opiate tolerance and an assumption you're going onto sub maintanence, unless you're on a long-term prescribed dose of xanax that you've been taking for at least 6 months, then I'd give the xanax a miss for your first sub dose.

Being you state you have been taking Xanax to deal with the wd, best thing I can say is induct onto the suboxone slowly, like take 1mg and wait 20-30 min then take another 1 mg..until you are symptom free. Do not just take a whole strip/pill. Because you don't know how your body will interact with Xanax. Unless of course you normally take benzos and opiates together and have a tolerance
Otherwise take it slow inducting the sub...and seeing you are about 19 hours in (only 5 to go!) that's the best HR advice that I have for you. Good luck!

Ya, was gonna say unless you take the xanax often together with other opiates ya may want to avoid, could cause a nod during induction(first time I snorted a Sub pill I NODDED HARD with two hits of shit weed added, but then it never ever happened again, no matter what was added.) If you have a script GO FOR IT,lol, be like look doc I have a script and I'm not dying so gimme both my breathing is fine..THANK YOU.
Edit: But I mean really, the whole bupe/benzo being dangerous is really for people with low/No tolerances to either benzo's or opiates, and if you don't take benzo's often then just don't take your normal amount but half. Now methadone a little different, but as long as your taking WHAT YOUR SUPPOSE TO ITS FINE.
But with bupe don't even bother trying to get fucked up on that combo unless your trying to get another habbit going because you will be chasing this high that isn't comig, but they go great together & even out each others effects when taken as prescribed together. But for a minute I was trying everything to catch a buzz after being on Subs for a year, so I started bangin' my Subs and would take like 8/xanax or klonopin at a time with each bang( twice daily, usually a lil under a mg of bupe). I think it just made me benzoed out and I fucked up a medicine that actually helped my anxiety cuz now I need minimum of 3mg of either to help with anxiety...Then found out when a couple grams of Gabapentin with 8 xanax or Klonopin with 'spice' or weed(optional but helped) would lead to me nodding or passing out. I was fucked up for a while but I think it was just all my Gaba receptors, and a VERY MINOR part of micro doses of bupe. But ya....don't do that, espcially mixing all that if you don't have a high Gaba tolerance.

Messed up again with a gram a day habit,
Desided to try kicking it, could 2 10mg xanax after 11hours of not using and 10mg Valium after 13hrs, wasn't feeling the WD that bad and fell asleep at work, got sent home and then could 2mg following by 4mg a hour later so in total waited 15hours before taking the subutex,
