Need advice on peyote!

Hello my friends. No experience with peyote here what-so-ever. And am finding the internet isn't quite helping with what i need, so i thought i'd ask the wise folks over here. I have an opportunity to buy a 45mm across the green top (15 years old) very well grown and taken care of peyote (Lophophora williamsii). I am looking, obviously, for a good psychedelic experience. Pretty sure this is sufficient, but not really too sure. Does it need to grow "buttons" on it that i harvest, or is it ready to eat right now. Some places i read say, eat the whole thing, some say eat buttons. Is one cactus even gonna be sufficient enough for a good trip. idk. Someone, just please tell me what i'd do with this seemingly quite large peyote cactus to get a good experience out of it.

well hopefully you know that mescaline was derived from peyote. and i have never had any experiences from peyote by itself but i know it exists. honestly, they are like the same thing, just in different forms. but im sure there would be pride in knowing you have a peyote cacti hah ;)
it works the same as the san pedro cactus. you can cut it into small pieces and boil them down basically until you have sludge haha and then drink it with water. peyote is rare. so you should def try it :) there will for sure be youtube videos on how to boil the SAN PEDRO cactus and im sure online sources on how to boil the cactus into mescaline. just substitute the word san pedro for peyote ;)

Thanks my friend. But I'm looking for more info on this specific situation, in terms of dosage. I'm more or less concerned it wouldn't be sufficient enough for a good trip. So I'm hoping someone could tell me if this 45mm in diameter, 15 year old Lophophora williamsii will do the trick. After that, I will try to figure out my method of ingestion.
 
Personally I'd keep the peyote growing and buy some san pedro, its quite cheap. But im a plant nut. Doesn't sound like you have enough there, you could alway add some san pedro to the peyote to increase the mescaline dosage. And if you do decide to consume the peyote make sure to slice it off along the base of the cactus, it will grow back (slowly) over time if you dont damage the roots and it doesn't rot.
 
eat the 'bottons' . pick the tufts off as best you can and choke it down .
the nausea passes as you flip your lid .
 
Don't eat it, it's a waste. You'd need 3-5 that size for a 'real' trip. I honestly doubt you've have much effect off of just the one. If you do some more research you'll see that you need to consume multiple mature buttons (that's ONE mature button, not even a big one at that, standard sized).

In my opinion, unless you're growing more, eating any peyote is wrong - it's an endangered species, how can you justify consuming it to get high? Buy pedro/torch/achuma chips.

Agreed^^ from wiki: "The average 3 inch button contains about 25 mg mescaline"

you would need alot more than just one, and it is so rare, I say let it grow

Never used Peyote but other sources for mescaline (San Pedro etc) are generally recommended. There is all kinds of info on various cacti, different extraction techniques, etc, in the thread above and the numerous subthreads linked on the first page of it.
