Need advice on Pain Management.

hello everyone . i am 24 years old and had a accident when i was 19 and been suffering ever since . i jumped out of a moving car that had no brakes. the door smacked me in to a tree. i broke my fore arm in 3 places and cut all my tendons Across. I have a plate and 12 screws and tendonitis . Also a huge skin Graft. i was on pain meds for a year after accident . all of the sudden my doctor cut me off , i wasnt worried about it not knowing how i was going to feel . i went thru horrible withdrawl for weeks untill another DR told me to go get on suboxone for a month to come down smooth instead of cold turkey from pills. i never abused them i always took the pills as prescribed thru the whole year . So i got on suboxone And ended up staying on it for 2 years . 4Mg a day , it actually helped my pain for a while. now i have decided to stop the suboxone . ever since i stopped my Arm is killing me , i cant take it anymore . Pain Management wont take me seriously bc of the Suboxone history . what can i do !? should i go to a cash Pain Manag !? or Should i keep trying diff ones !? its sad that they dont take me serious . they think i am just DR shopping , wich i am not , any advice is well appreciatted guys . thanks For Reading .

I feel so bad for you. You have been through so much and I can't imagine how you must have coped. To be honest I don't really know much about where best to direct you in terms of pain management on here. I would suggest that you check out Other Drugs (OD) , the Suboxone/ Buprenorphine Megathread and FAQ V.18.0 . The people who participate in the suboxone megathread are very knowledgeable and experienced - so you may benefit from this thread in terms of reducing suboxone.

We have an Adoption Programme which may help you get used to this site. There may be people within the programme who can relate to your situation and could offer help or advice. If you feel interested, feel free to comment on the thread I've just linked, expressing your interest. You can also access this thread by looking at the sticky threads at the top of New Members Introductions (NMI).

I would also advise you to read the Greenlighter's Guide and the rules known as BLUA (Bluelight User Agreement) because they protect us members as well as the site. For instance; one of the rules is no sourcing, if a member had not read the rules and discusses sourcing, then they may receive a warning or whatever, and if they had have read the rules, they would have avoided receiving, eg a warning.

We also have a thread on this sub-forum, New Members Introductions (NMI) Social Thread which you may like to check out if you so wish. It's a place where lots of members, from different sub-forums of the site; both Bluelighters and Greenlighters can socialise together.

Unfortunately unless you find a really nice caring doctor once you've gone on subocne pain meds are a big no no because it means you can't stop using your meds when you need to.
Its sad how so many people can't get help for their pain like my mom who burnt her liver out having to take over the counter Tylenol with codeine because she lives with is much pain she can't do anything everyday is hell and she has to keep going to the hospital to get the infected parts of her intestine removed as it explodes in certain parts from time to time. She has never had meds prescribed and I've seen her go through hell for a decade with this illness she has unable to work. I used to buy her oxys on the street and heroin because she couldn't get a script which is what a lot of people have to turn to is the street drugs like heroin as it gives the same effect as the painkillers with the same pain relief. Sorry man its the way the world is. My mom never even had addiction problems in her life and she is left to suffer with the choices of burning out her liver with Tylenol or buying heroin.

I am so sorry to hear about that accident! That sounds dreadfully painful. I also have tendinitis.

I wish you the best of luck with your pain. How long have you not been on Suboxone for? Congratulations on being able to quit. I myself am 155 days off Suboxone.
