Need advice on an INTENSE test result.

Hey everyone.
Just a quick query...we tested a pill and the reaction was an immediate puff of smoke, bubbles (small amount) and black...very very black...all this occured in a matter of 1.5-2 seconds. Can anyone give me a clue as to what this substance might be? i've tested black pills, but NOTHING this full on!!!

thanx, we thought that was the case, but like to get a second opinion. you see, the pills in australia are of a definite lesser quality than in other parts of the world, the best reaction we get is black straight away. this was very rare.
ps...i really hope you didn't take offense to my post, i just didn't want you thinking that i was some uneducated person shooting off at the mouth.

I am so chilled, I wouldn't have even noticed..
But now that I am thinking about it.. was this a pill or powder?
If it was a pill, I would question the pure MDMA answer I gave you, because MDMA doesn't press so well...
therefore, if it is a well made pill, it may contain methamphetamine, as pills with meth (when EZ-Tested) give off quite a bit of smoke (pill contents verified using TLC)
Is the pill really soft & crumbly or hard?

How important is the speed of the reaction, what does it tell you?
Small hearts: Black immediately but only 80mg MDMA (DIMS database says so)
Orange tulips: slower reaction, 5secs instead of 2.
But everyone knows these orange T's are really strong.
Is the difference in the filler or the pill-pressing technique?

I think that the filler used would have alot to do with the reaction time...but hey, could be completely wrong.
With regard to gamers question, the pills were extremely soft an crumbly. He is right by saying that pure mdma doesn't press well, that's why i'm sometimes sus on pills that are really hard. People who say that a pill is not well pressed are sometimes actually dealing with really pure mdma
 
sam Im not an expert much less a novice at ez test reactions but if u want some more info on what it could be if not mdma there is a topic posted by me in earlier october entitled DXM in which people gave mixed responces on the difference between mdma and dxm reactions. I would insert url HERE if i knew how ...sorry bout that. From what info Ive gathered reading different posts this sounds like mdma though.

i'll go through the posts and have a look-see. In australia, we have found that all the pills we have tested that have given the "textbook reaction" of mdxx have been really soft and crumbly. The last ones we tested (trianglular shape, weird colour, almost like putty consistency) gave off the intense reaction.
i find the only down side of eztest is that the reaction to mdma might mask other colours...but hey...don't get me wrong...i love the eztest!!!!
 
Sounds more like DXM to me......read the ez-tester website.....instant smoke to grey or black shows the presence of DXM.....not good....

Mikey_m - I'd be careful with that advice, because as I understand it, DXM's reaction time is actually over a period of 30 seconds - straight to black & bubbles should be pure MDMA (test powder and you'll see what I mean). Smoke, not bubbles, and over 30 seconds to grey should be DXM.

If it helps fruitcake, I just test my own home-made powder recently with this test. Turned dark black at about 4 second mark. Immediate intense purple upon dripping with instant smoke ring. We then tested some byproduct crap (epsom salts mixed in with maybe 20mg mdma at most) which was useless. The reaction changed yellow first 15-20 seconds and darker until purple fter 1 minute
 
I certainly hope you haven't just announced to the world that you manufacture MDMA!

its all good - he announced earlier (another post) that he manufactures MDMA at home!
as to the test - does it taste and smell like MDMA?? - i always use my senses and the test. (MDMA will smoke and turn black immediately but a combo of MDMA and DXM could do the same - DXM by itself will smoke and then turn black later.)

be careful...e-mail ez-test and describe the results EXACTLT!!! Make sure of the color. Test on a pure white plate. Let the reaction take place and let the drop run down the plate to thin it out to see the exact color. EZ-Test helped me with a similar question. I had bubbles, it really sizzled but no smoke.The reaction was immediate to a very dark purple. Smoke ID's dxm most of the time. Look at the charts, there is a change from black to a very dark purple if it is good after the listed time. Send a tab to dancesafe to be 100% sure.
 
sorry i havent' replied yet... to lozz et all, these pills were triantular, rounded edges, sort of like the UFO's that were around in 1995...if you remember them (!) they were very weird colour, VERY soft and crumbly, they had no logo, and from what i can see in the scene round brisvegas...no one has had them. I believe that they have JUST hit qld. the sample turned black at point of contact with the reagent, there were VERY small bubbles for an extremely short period of time, a TINY puff of smoke then black black black (with a VERY dark purple ring round the outside and when we tipped the plate and thinned the test out)...there was absolutely no indication of dxm...not to say that i'm an expert at testing, but from our observations, it was a textbook reaction for MDMA.
i can't really send a pill to dancesafe, as i live in australia...don't think good ol australia post would like that....although, some shady postal service employee might find it and eat it!!!

Hey... Well I'm Moderator of this forum too now...
Anyhow, smoke will come off of MDMA when it is in high concentration or its not stuck together with heavy binders.
Pure methamphetamine also smokes, but it turns yellow.. I suspect if it were in high enough concentratio in a pill that also contained MDMA, it could be responsible for smoke.
DXM should not really be identified by smoke alone, but really, the slow colour change to grey-black WITH smoke is the obvious sign.
