Hey, I'm a 20 year old male diagnosed with low T ( ~215 ng/dl) (147 lb, 5'10, 9.5%bf) I have no facial hair, little body hair, and have had trouble gaining in the gym most of life.
I was prescribed 200mg of cypionate to be taken every 2 weeks. I feel that this dosage is too low to adequately treat me; needless to say, I would really like a stronger treatment.
With an upcoming blood test, I have been considering taking injections every week, then laying off for a few weeks prior to the test to register with lower T. In doing so, I hope to show up as having low T still, and receive a higher dosage of cypionate from my doctor. Also, I am considering running Nolvadex after a few weeks to block estrogen in my system and kick start T production.
Is it a good decision to deviate from instructions to receive a higher dosage? Is 200 mg bi-monthly far too low?
I would really appreciate ANY information/feedback you guys could provide. Thanks!

First, it's odd a twenty year old would get that prescription, but, 200mg EOW is the standard dosing of any injectable testosterone. Why do you get cypionate instead of enanthate?
Testosterone enanthate is a longer-acting esther, and tolerates bi-weekly injections well. Testosterone cypionate is a short-acting esther, so your hormone levels will go up and down like a roller coaster.
In fact, most doctors prescribe enanthate. It's also good because it causes less water retention than cypionate. Cyp sometimes causes a bloated look.
You might want to request androgel instead, 50mg/day. This is a rub-on topical and works great.

The bolded is a bad idea. You don't want your levels being so erratic. YOu will experience undesirable sides, mainly your emotional state will be all screwy.

200 mg every 2 weeks is considered very adequate. Why not just try it out and see how things go? LIke the poster above mentioned, most doctors WILL NOT prescribe somebody your age injectable test?!?! Usually the topical creams come first and all that shit. So consider yourself lucky man. Stick with the 200/2 weeks

200 q 2 weeks is completely acceptable.

Don't fuck with your values by skipping doses. As K said be happy with the fact that you received injectible instead of transdermal first. I spent 4 months on transdermal before only for it not to work and finally being put on injectible.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I just got a little impatient with results. I'm beginning to realize how much I could really be screwing with my hormone production down the road by not following my doc's advice. Still up to hear more advice if anyone wants to add in.

uh yeah that's completely fine. that's the same as my dose basically, I'm on 100 mg per week, and my body makes NO testosterone naturally. don't fuck with your prescription either by doing it every week or skipping weeks or whatever, bad idea

I know your intentions were to help, and I hope I don't come off like a dick, but you've got a few facts incorrect.

First, test cyp is commonly prescribed for trt. Second, it is longer acting than enanthate (8 carbons vs 7 carbons). Therefore, testosterone levels will fluctuate less than if enanthate was taken. Third, most wouldn't notice a difference in water retention between the two. Last, I don't know anyone who would rather have a transdermal over an injectable.

To the poster, I would shoot 100mgs/wk if I were you. Two weeks is too long in between injections. If you want the okay from your doc, hit up pubmed.com for some references. There are plenty of abstracts having to do with the half life of cypionate that should convince him to give you the okay.

hey guys im in my early 20's and have lost all libido on my shots. i have been fucking with arimidex forever since the beginning, getting my info from the older dudes on bodybuilding forums. apparently i shouldnt be touching this shit i guess. i have stopped the arimidex.

do u guys have good libidos? what dosages do u run? i currently stopped doing twice weekly, e3d, etc. and went to a more normal dosing of weekly, even though more frequently should be better. i just want to trust doctors for once and not listen to the masses online. anybody take 200mg weekly, or more for cycling or TRT? did u need an anti estrogen?

thanks!

and about test cyp and test ent... there both "the same", dont spread misinformation about them, saying cyp sucks. im glad that one guy cleared that up. besides, enth is used elsewhere in the world, cyp in the US. (generally)

Currently take 200mg cypionate q weekly with no abnormal libido problems. Wife and I currently average 5-7 times per week. Depending on stress sometimes as low as 3 times and a good week is 10 times. No anti-estrogens/SERMS. Just good old cypionate injected every 7 days.

I would like to add that my low T is caused from secondary hypogonadism caused from a 2cm microadenoma on my pituitary gland.

nice nice. i take 100mg dhea in the morning upon waking and another 100mg ~12hrs later to split it up. My tests show me high normal (400-600). Do you guys take dhea?

I also take deprenyl/selegiline for that dopamine boost.

libido is crap but i have i dabbled with arimidex for over a year and a half. im going cold turky now, and libido has gotten worse, but im hopinh its just the calm before the sexual storm. guessing its gonna take a month or two for things to settle...

Smart move backing away from the AI. There's no need for it at that dose, and IMO, it's detrimental to be added unless e2 levels are carefully monitored.

Many trt guys start to feel burnt out. This *might* be what you're experiencing. If you have an open endo, might want to discuss throwing in a touch of hcg. It really helps some.

Another option is that you're just getting older and thus, libido is diminishing slightly. Not everyone wishes to fuck everything that walks by them at any moment.
