Necessity for collection

I was over stimulated due to a coffee after work....ahhaa Oh, I mean meth amphetamine. Bored and decided to increase my collection of literature. unfortunately over the years when addicted I sold too many. I have to start out again to seek what i consider 'necessary literature' or usually ' classic lit.'
What are some of the pieces of work that fit in your catorgaray? I'll find mine an post soon. Opinions most welcome
