Ne1 ever had a Heroin overdose?

I'm always sad when I read these heroin questions. I'm lucky enough to have NEVER jabbed the needle in my arm.

OP: Yes, like any long term user I have overdosed and since I am posting this, of course I have been revived. Alot of opiate-naieve or inexperienced users believe that any opiate/opioid overdose would be a painfree experience, like a great big "nod," etc.
Far from the truth. If you do not go under right away you will be so naseous that a raucous night at the bar will seem like tea with mum. Vomiting for 3 days is about the norm from subjective experience and informal polls. It is just as with any poisoning, if you manage to survive it your body will naturally purge it and it is not fun at all.
Hard to say what someone who goes under right away feels, since I can only remember from the injection of Antagonist. Since I was (and am) a long term addict (24 years of opiate/opioid addiction) it was hell, as an understatement. Have you even been in Acute Physical Withdrawal? Imagine the peak of the Withdrawal hitting you in one fall swoop. There is a very good reason why Rapid Detox Practicioners administer general anesthesia to subjects. Basically, you are in a gurney most likely and suddenly seize up and wake all in the same instant, foaming at mouth usually.
Most addicts swear they would have rather died than have experienced a full Antagonist while addicted but I seriously doubt many REALLY wish to have died. At the time though, I have absolutely no doubt that they FELT that way.
Either way, it is far better to edcuate one's self and engage in safe and educated usage.

I've heard that being given a shot of Narcan while conscious is the most painful experience you could possibly go through. And yes, like the above poster mentioned, the person telling me this story said he was welcoming death because it hurt so badly.

no my experience was different I overdose about 4 months ago it was not painful by any means, I felt the initial rush of the H and then sat down. Once I sat down I must have blacked out because I don't remember anything. I woke up in an ambulance being shot up with narcan, and no the narcan was not painful at all. They never pumped my stomach or anything like that. Overall I was very stupid in that situation, without thinking of the ramifications. But in regards to pain there was none, except the realization of what a stupid thing I had done. That was the last time I used and am now 4 months clean so I guess it was what I needed to wake my ass up
the only time i came close to ODing was blacking out for about 30 seconds after smoking tar heroin for the first time while already high on ~30mg oxy (high dose for my tolerance at the time). it didn't take long to move on to the needle after experiencing such a wonderful thing as blacking out. somehow after almost 2 years of banging dilaudid and dope i haven't nodded hard enough to overdose. the closest i came was when i mixed 4mg dilaudid (my 2nd time) with a bag of nice tan powder dope and decided to drive ~15 miles to my friend's downtown to buy some weed. i was basically nodding while driving but i somehow made it past a highway and downtown area.

I have been close. I was snorting a shit load of heroin and xanax one night (huge mistake), and in the next instant was awaken to my parents rushing me to the hospital the next morning. I had blood and vomit all over my shirt and was disoriented. I was in no pain just confused about what was going on.

yea i have OD'd a few times, luckily i came out of it ok, and never needed a shot of narcan. (well i probably did but i was combative so the EMT's let me be)
I remember making my shot, injecting, pulling the needle out and feeling the rush and burn come on, but it didnt stop it kept going and i said in my mind "shit, i did too much" next thing i know im waking up to cops and the ambo lights. it was an ugly scene.
The other ones were pretty much the same, except the time i tried to OD on purpose out of desparity but my tolerance was high enough that shooting all the dope i had left that day didnt do the job and i awoke a few hours later almost unable to move.
And no, it doesnt hurt. I mean yea sometimes the rush can actually be painful, you get that intense burning in your face and hands and body ect...but after that, its just nothing. blackness.

I came pretty close on fentanyl a few years ago. Mostly all I remember is struggling to breathe and stay awake, I had a feeling if I nodded out again I probably wouldn't wake up. But maybe it was just a too-intense high and not quite an OD.
It's pretty scary to see someone OD in front of you though, they suddenly just slump over, with their eyes open, are totally unresponsive, and having to give rescue breathing is the worst.

I had been an active addict shooting opiates for 6 months before I OD'd. The reason I overdose was the fact I had been clean two and a half weeks and my tolerance had shot way down. I should have put that into consideration... I just got a phone call two hours ago of a buddy in florida who OD'd on roxi's and xanax. Damn this shit is crazy

I've O.D on fentanyl before, shot some herion cut with the shit, and was rushed to a hospital. Don't know to much, remimber pulln the plunger and watching the blood swirl, and thats all. I'm just glad that I diddn't die, luckly my girlfriend was there for me when I passed out. She told me that I started to blink stupidly, and my eyes rolled in the back of my head, and just fell over, thank god I live close to a hospital.! I stayed in the hospital for a few weeks, went to the psy part of it after I was feeling better. ODs are no fun, always check your shit for inpureties before you slam. gl

Notice all the posts about people who either almost OD'd or were found. Im pretty sure you have to blackout and "go under" to be considered overdosing? Anyway those who were by themselves and weren't found... aren't able to post their experience. Just thought Id note that, many people who overdose die and I think when questions like this are asked and get so many answers it leaves a desensitizing impression. peace and STAY SAFE. -Spaz-
yea not exactly in the sake of harm reduction lol. i was fucked up enough to make such a dumb decision but obviously not fucked up enough since that's out of character for me (driving while nodding) and was the first and last time i tried that.

I od'd on H a couple of years ago........the hardest part was that my best friend also od'd that night and didn't make it....and I found out 2 days later while i was still in the hospital......missed the funeral and the wake because i was so f'd up stuck in a bed in the critical care ward. As for painful....only mentally.
