NCAA Football 2006 Thread

nice call beener! you're kinda right too. rutgers beat louisville and wont get anywhere as close to a shot at the bcs championship ( win out or no) as louisville would have

Oh shit, I stopped watching this game halfway through the 2nd quarter and went back to my tanning bed. Dingleberries!

Well, Ohio State handed down another beat down to Northwestern today, nothing out of the ordinary.

I feel sorry for Michigan fans, I really do. They know their team is going to lose next weekend and there's nothing they can do about it. Jim Tressell is just too much for the state of Michigan to handle. Good luck in the Rose Bowl, wolverine fans.

You go up against the scarlet & grey..... you lose.

Hey BA, you might want to tell your mom to wipe of the blue & maze I got all over her face this afternoon. And tell her I said I was sorry; It's just that I was watching the Wolverines rape Indiana, and I couldn't stop cumming. I can't believe I came on your mom either, but it was just that good.

See ya on the 18th.
:)

seeya on the 18th, Aaron, but I'm afraid Michigan is going to lose in front of my very eyes at Ohio stadium!! ;) =D

You guys are fantastically over-confident, its really mind-blowing. There is no way that anyone can know the outcome of this game. Both teams are powerhouses, both have offenses that are simultaneously smash-mouth and explosive. Both have defenses that are stifling. It is going to be a very good game, but I'm not calling it. I'm just hoping that you are both eating crow a week from today.

Llyod Carr better study the tape of the schlacking Nebraska laid down on them in their Alamo bowl loss last season and figure out how to get the job done.

You can talk this amount of shit when you're team is #1, not #2. Take note, chumps. ;)

well well well, look what we have here, a very interesting and shaping up to be a very controversial BCS... didn't see that coming ... anyone?

well here's my take, OSU/Mich. winner vs. USC if they win out.

we'll see how the pollsters see it.

reminder SC still has Cal, ND, and UCLA all big for SOS

Watching the University of Miami today I was amazed at how good Kirby Freeman looks compared to Kyle Wright. Smart decisions, a better, more accurate arm, and to top it all off, speed. He looked incredible, and would have won the game against Maryland has Coker had more trust in him and Ryan Hill not dropped the game winning ball while wide open in the endzone.

Thats some more heat on Coker. How the fuck did he miss that kind of talent?

I totally agree now, what with the brand spanking new BCS rankings coming out tonight. of course Ohio State is #1 and Michigan is #2 but what surprised me is that USC is #3. with three of the top six teams in last week's BCS rankings losing, Southern California moved to #3 from #7 after beating then-ranked Oregon 35-10 last night. not that I am meaning to take anything away from the splendid football program that is USC, but it always is a surprise when a team holds down a #2 or 3 ranking all year, to have it fall to #7 via an upset, and then to regain #3 back. I suppose then #5 Texas getting upset by Kansas State 45-42 and Auburn dropping to #14 from #6 after losing to Georgia 37-15. good on USC, they still have a chance after all.

who in the world saw Texas getting edged by Kansas State? most def. not me. Rutgers also upset Lousville which I called out earlier in the week. don't ask me how I came up with that before the game, but I just had a feeling at the time of the WVU VS L-ville game that the winner would fall to Rutgers because they were on too high of a horse. despite if Rutgers finishes the season undefeated; I do not think they have a chance of playing in the BCS National Championship. not by a long shot. mostly because of the ranking they started the season with. still, their current record remains a pleasant surprise in college football.

now on OSU...

although I don't think this comment was directed entirely towards me (I'm thinking more in the direction of BA ;)) I still can defend your allegations of hubris. it is easy to become over-confident when your team has held down the #1 ranking all year, specially when you are an Ohio State Buckeyes fan - a team that has been a powerhouse every year since more or less the early-to-mid 90s. what can be seen as arrogance is mostly such a die-hard desire and love for OSU's football program. I don't think you have an idea of the extent of the football mania Columbus has for their football Buckeyes. it is borderline INSANE. it used to be much worst a half-dozen years ago when every year for the Michigan game (regardless of it being home or away) the campus area of Columbus was locked down because of violent rioting, upturning of cars, and couches lit on fire every block.

if you show me a Buckeye football fan who thinks that the Michigan game will be a blow out, and they are not worried at all in the slightest bit - and I will tell you that he is a dumbass. as both OSU and UM fans we know at what level that game is held. it is above anything and everything else and ANYTHING can happen. any team can win, regardless of record or ranking. remember a couple years ago when UM was ranked like #2 or #3 and were supossed to dismantle OSU but OSU blew them out?

yeah, anything can happen for the OSU VS Michigan game. I think it should be considered the uncontested best rivalry in ALL OF SPORTS. I'd like for some of you to throw out other rivalries in college football, pro-football, pro baseball, etc that you think compares to that rivalry. and I will shoot it down. I think the only other rivalry having a chance might be the Boston Red Sox VS the New York Yankees.

that being said:

we don't give a damn 'bout the whole state of Michigan,
the whole state of Michigan,
the whole state of Michigan,
we don't give a damn 'bout the whole state of Michigan -
cuz we're from O HI O!

OH!

Im thinking its gonna be either Michigan-Ohio state in the big bowl, or Florida-Ohio State.

Can S. Cal defeat Cal? I say no.
Is Arkansas as good as they think they are? No.
Is michigan? Yes but you cant loose in November!
You cant loose in November. Good luck to both of you though.

I Know we're not as old as the Ohio State-Michigan thing.
But, Florida-Florida State was certainly the biggest rivalry in College Football in the 90's and has been up there this century.

Texas-Oklahoma also pretty big
