not much of a surprise here, as both of these teams combine to claim a very large percentage of NBA titles.

conspiracy theories aside, who does everybody got so far?

the Celtics-Lakers rivalry is rekindled yet again, and I kind of wish I was back living in Boston for this one. as grimey and insane as Boston fans are, they love seeing a superstar cry and they will be trying their best with their integral playoff help defense to do so to Kobe.

but Kobe is Kobe and although he will be putting up an unrealistic amount of shots he can most certainly will his team to win.

I'll be watching

lulz at the Kobe shot axl. He's averaging 29.4 points on less than 22 shots and less than 6 FTA per game this playoff season. This isn't Allen Iverson we're talking about here! :D

Lakers in 6 or 7 is what I think will happen, though I know my Laker fanatic roommate wants it in 5, just to rub it into Boston's face heh.

Some food for thought:

I took a glimpse at the 2008 finals. Do any of you remember that along with bynum not playing the entire series, Ariza missed the first game and played the rest on a bum ankle. Also, fucking Rodmonivich or however you spell it was still playing a hefty amount of minutes then (yes the same guy who now plays for the wariors averaging a whoping 4.4 points per game last season). Finally the lakers also didn't have Shannon brown then either. I'm suprised they managed to win 2 games then with Kobe carrying them on his back.

With Kobe and gasol having more experience with eachother than in 2008, bynum being able to astablish a prescence on the floor, and the addition of artest, this is a completely different team

Bynum just had his knee drained didn't he? I don't think he's much of a game changer either way though.

I think both teams have changed for the better. Radmonovich (sp?) is replaced with Artest and Gasol is a better player for you guys too. One our side Rondo is worlds better than he was and Perk (if he can stfu) is too. I really hope that both teams keep the play at a high level. They are both capable. The Lakers are a better version of themselves from 2 years ago and the Celtics offense has really changed alot and for the better. Should be a good time

I heard speculation that Fisher may not even start against Rondo. The idea being that he may be a little slow to keep up and he can give their bench a serious offense boost. Should be interesting. I'm most curious to see how Ray Allen is covered because the Cs have more real offensive threats than they did before.

We shall see in 2 hours. Good luck gentlemen

Johny ide say Bynum is a game changer because starting him at center allows gasol to start at forward rather then center as he did in 08. All they need from hi
is to put a body on perk and grab some rebounds. Starting bynum at center also allows odom to come off the bench instead of having to start at forward due to gasol filling in at center. Bynums presence alone vastly changes the lakers rotations and improves their bench play.

Oh and I bet fish starts tonight. Ide bet jackson tries a team defensive scheme to stop rondo rather than one guy, he's too good

Wow. We did not show up on offense. So many missed opportunities it made me sick. I don't know if KG is on drugs or what but, I really didn't want him on the floor anymore. They all just looked like shit and the early foul trouble that Ray Allen got in absolutely killed us. Terrible basketball. KG man seriously wtf did you have a stroke or what?

My "Lakers in 3" post just might wind up being the most accurate prediction of this thread.

Bring out the brooms.

These teams are not even close to being evenly matched.

The Celtics made a nice run in the NCAA Conference Play-Offs.

Good luck shutting down Kobe.

Don't jinx us LL. You can't expect ray Allen to sit out again as much as he did in game one. Expect him to have big game 2 offensively although the lakers should still win that one. the lakers are the better team though when Both teams are playing their best game. Kobe is also challenging jordans spot with his play right now. KEEP IT UP LAKERS!

The score of the game really doesn't tell the tale. It was way worse than the score leads on. That said I think a sweep would be a bit much. Cleveland lit us up too (if not worse). The best part of that game for me was Nate Robinson/Gasol jump ball. At least I got a chuckle from that.

Also west coast basketball isn't what it used to be so say what you will but, calling east coast the NCAA is just ridiculous. I hope Rasheed breaks Kobe's arm just for saying that.

Really?

The Spurs were a 7 seed in the West.

The Hawks were a 3 seed in the East.

You REALLY think that the two conferences are even close to being equal?

Classy.

Either you're a complete asshole (if you really meant that) or you're extremely unfunny (if you meant it as a "joke").

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
