I am looking for some assistance on how to correctly dose my first oxycodone experience. I have a natural tolerance to pain killers, unfortunately. Also i am prescribed "as needed" 2mg alprazolam.

My Opiate Experiences...(none of which have had any euphoria to report)
For example i have taken 45mg of hydrocodone and felt the same relaxation with a mild emotional improvement as i do with my prescribed 2mg alprazolam (to put in perspective).

Further i would like to add that after a ALC reconstruction surgery, i had norcos prescribed for post operation pain, i had to consume the entire 40 10mg norcos in two days to alleviate the pain i was going through for the "flexion" machine.

My last experiment wth opiates i consumed three ounces of the codeine/promethazine cough syrup with the same calming effect i experienced with hydrocone.

It has been about a month since i last consumed any opiates.

What would be the "conversion" from hydrocodone to oxycodone for milligram to milligram?
Would there be a possible way to lower this tolerance?

I tend to use this chart but I don't know which opiates are full agonists (sp?) and what not, so I've been told it's hard to compare different types of opiates. According to this chart Oxycodone is about 4 times stronger than Hydrocodone, and in my experience it's even more than that. I've never really gotten much of a buzz from Hydrocodone except for the first time I took it, which was also my first opiate experience. I did end up eating about 10 to 15 10mg Vicodin that night, so I'm not sure if I skewed my Hydrocodone tolerance permanently or what, but since that night I have never felt anything but itchiness from Hydrocodone.

One thing I would recommend, and something I didn't know at the time, is to be careful taking that much Hydrocodone as it is almost always bundled with acetaminophen which is very bad for your body in high doses. I've never done it but I've heard a cold water extraction is fairly simple for hydrocodone, if you ever plan on taking that much in the future I would highly recommend it.

The only way to lower your tolerance is to abstain as far as I know. As far as how much Oxy to take, I would start off with something like 20mg and go from there. You don't want to take too much and end up throwing up, and you can always just take more if you don't attain the feeling you're looking for. Codeine is super weak, I've never felt any kind of buzz from it before so that's not a good way to gauge your overall tolerance IMO. Try 20mg to start and if you don't feel as good as you want to, bump it up to 40 and go from there.

Most equianalgesic charts actually put oxycodone at 1.5x as potent as hydrocodone and equivalent to morphine (assuming all are taking orally). Here is a useful narcotic converter that I find to be pretty accurate.

Very few opioids are NOT full agonists... basically the only mixed agonist-antagonist (or partial agonist) commonly seen in most places is buprenorphine. In some areas you'll also see pentazocine. All the other common opioids are full agonists (hydrocodone, oxycodone, hydromorphone, oxymorphine, morphine, codeine, heroin, etc.)

Personally I prefer to err on the side of caution rather than on the side of 5 hours of vomiting, so I'd advise starting at 10-15mg and waiting 30-45 minutes and dosing more if you desire for the first time but you're probably going to have people argue that its a waste and its better to take it all at once... while this is true, it all comes down to how comfortable you are with risking exceeding your tolerance and getting sick and ruining the whole experience.
