Without that, I'd be bored as fuck. What do homeless people do for fun? lol.. I hate people, so communicating with other homeless people would just annoy me to no ends.

Drugs, alcohol, panhandling, avoiding cops. Even if you don't start being a homeless as an addict, being a homeless turns you into one. Your miserable situation isn't as miserable with 2 40s and a four Loko running through your veins and a pack of smokes in your pocket. That's like ten bucks around here

God being a homeowner is my lifelong dream. When i was 22 i was just scraping myself off the streets and into some dumpy apartment. Im drowned i student loan debt, over 25k that i never foresee paying off unless i die and for some reason my s.o. doesnt want to iwn a house so i think thats going to be a major dealbreaker for us in the future altho we been together for 2 1/2 years. He owns his own engine head repair shop but only wants to rent i dont understand him and english not being his first language sometimes its hard for us to communicate about real issues.

Id take a home and great job over being carefree backpacker. Im done living a carefree, free spirit life. Drugs really wore me down and made me want to be a homebody and just have a place to belong/be.

The grass is always greener on the other side I think.

How old are you now? Honestly, now is probably the best time to buy a house, they are so cheap. I don't know where you live though. Homeownership can be a pretty big pain in the ass, if something breaks and needs fixing it's all on you. I've never rented so I can't compare but it sometimes seems like it would be nice to have someone else come in and take care of shit.

Has your partner ever explained why he doesn't want a house? Lack of communication, regardless of the reason, can cause some serious turmoil in a relationship. Trust and communication are my two essentials for a relationship, it won't work without those things. It sounds like you may be at a crossroads in your life.

C'est moi...and my motorcycle. This was a couple years ago.

I have been a big fan of Triumph motorcycles lately. I had a thing for Victory's for awhile but I'm just not thrilled with the body style they have gone to. They lost the beautiful lines they used to have.

That's the beautiful part about life. Taking something negative and having it transform into a positive.
I hope I'm like you one day. Granted, I've never really 'lived off the streets' ... that lifestyle isn't appealing to me whatsoever.
But I certainly don't care about drug use, and hitting 'rock bottom' I've been through alot of legal troubles, but I've never been on my ass in the streets.
If I ever got to that point, I'd like to think I'd change for the better. Most of my time spent being high is on the computer, watching tv, or doing some hobby of mine.
Without that, I'd be bored as fuck. What do homeless people do for fun? lol.. I hate people, so communicating with other homeless people would just annoy me to no ends.

Btw - Rent sucks. Honestly, it's just throwing money away. Should save up & buy a house.. atleast you'll have a permanent residence. I'm thinking your s.o. is scared of commitment.

Haha homeless people dont get bored. At least i didnt. I spent most my time running around on busses and trains going cross town making money for drugs and avoiding the cops cos i had warrants. By the time i had drugs and a few dollars for food i was so exhausted but i had to plan where i would sleep. And you have to watch out for people who want to hurt or rob (even tho have next to nothing to may he more than the next guy) you.sometimes if i had five extra dollars id buy a day pass for the bus and sleep on the route that runs all night. But sucks cos at the end of the line driver has to go pee and cant leave you on bus so every time you get to the end of the line each way you gotta get off the bus and sit around in the cold for 20min. So you never really get to sleep you only get an hour then got to get up for 20min then another hour then off for 20min etc...it sucks which i why i slwoly started weaning myself off the dope.

Pff-i just turned 25, i spent 19-part of 21 homeless then got an apt rite before i turned 22. I heard this funny quote "the grass isnt always greener, its just as brown." Kind of a pessimistic view but its funny.

I live i LA and being a homeowner here is way too expensive. After i finish school me and my s.o. want to move to a different state because its ridiculous out here everythings so expensive. He also has perfect credit so hed be the perfect person to get a loan. He says once i have a baby well look into buying a house but i honestly dont want to have a baby while on methadone and have it come out dependent and i want to finish school first. Im living seperate from him now so i can be closer to my school and hate driving there everyday and have been looking for a new apartment for us to move into in june and even thats stressful. Cant imagine looking for a house.

Don't underestimate yourself. You can balance a lot more than you think you can, it jusr depends on how well the bike is balanced itself. My dad has a 1600 Yamaha Roadstar thar I ride sometimes. I always used to be afraid of riding a big bike but really, it's not a concern necessarily. My problem is that I'm short (I'm 5'4) and motorcycles are built for people who are about 5'10. I can't touch the ground on most sport bikes.

My suggestion would to be to sit on as many bikes as possible and get a feel for what's comfortable.

That's good to know, I'm like 5'9/10 so they'll fit me well, and that's good to know about size, I kinda figured the bike would do most of the work. The few that I sat on felt comfortable as well, and I could at least touch the ground on them all (triumph thruxton, the 300, a 250, and a 650).

I don't really know enough about mechanics to buy one privately, I'd be too worried about getting a lemon or whatever. And I'd like to learn to maintain it myself, and I'm not really sure if that'll be easier buying from a dealer or an individual. But the dealer is really close to my office.

Dub, I am a little worried about safety (and so is my mom), but I see myself paying more attention on a bike, so I won't get in any stupid accident. What I mean by that is that I'm not the most careful driver (but I haven't had an accident in years, and I've never hit anyone)--so I feel like I'll have more fun on a bike and be more involved in driving.

I agree about the home ownership discussion too, I'd love to own my own home, just to get away from people as much as anything. Problem is I'm not sure where I'd want to live, I haven't found that place yet (unless it's Guatemala). My job is in such a boring suburban area, but at least it's near a more rural area than where I live now, which is what I'd really like.

Ehhhhhhhhh I would say that for the most part, people put a lot of heart and soul into their mororcycles. People generally don't just beat the shit out of them like a car. It's not likely that you would get a lemon. Do you know anyone at all that knows anything about bikes or mechanics? They could check it out for you.

In terms of safety, you have to have a completely different set of eyes when you ride. I can't tell you how many times drivers have done dumb shit around me. A couple of years ago there was a charity ride of a couple hundred bikers for a serviceman who had passed away, well, an old person crossed the double yellow and killed two or three of those motorcyclists. You will learn to be cognizant and you will learn to watch cars closely.

I love living out in the country. There is always wild life around and a lot of mostly untouched areas. It's really pretty where I live. I neef space. I would be way too claustrophobic in a city. It is annoying to have to drive 20 minutes to get to a grocery store though. That's pretty much the only downside.

Haha does anyone actually ever pay the ER? Ive blew all mine off including an almost two week hospital stay and i get a few harrassing calls and letters for a couple years then i think the Gov reimburses the hospital is what ive heard.

Oh nice. So you're into sport bikes, with the commute that you described a sport bike wouldn't necessarily be a bad choice. I think you would outgrow a ninja 300 rather quickly. You would probably get more longevity with the cbr-500. If you are truly just start in out then it might not be a bad idea to look into an older bike that you wouldn't cry if it got dropped. My very first bike, 13 years ago (eeeek!) was a 1981 Honda CM 400. She wasn't pretty but she ran great and was very reliable.

My personal preference are cruisers. I have a 2001 Suzuki Volusia. I'm in the process of getting her back on the road because I popped a back tire on a highway in TN last summer on a ride to Nashville. Honestly, I was more concerned about the scratches to my bike than any of my own injuries. She is my baby after all. I was pretty lucky, no mechanical damage to the bike but some scuffed and abrasions (I also didn't have engine guards which i am even luckier that there wasn't more damage). So, until I get her painted she won't be as pretty as she was but she runs.

I highly recommend a class. You learn so much. I took a class to get my license and I recommend it to all new riders. It's especially good if you haven't developed any bad habits already, you start fresh.

Lol a class... I still don't have a bike license and I don't plan to get one either. I think having an actual motorcycle endorsement on my license would really clash with the fake license plate on the bike as well, wouldn't want to screw that one up.

But yes I agree with starting on an ugly bike. I've been riding for a few years and I still have one of the ugliest bikes on the planet. I almost make a point to make it uglier because as my name suggests I beat the shit out of my bike and see no point in just destroying something pretty. I ride hard so I might as well do it on something that is hard to look at too

Yeah I've always heard something similar, even heard that it doesn't affect your credit if you blow them off because it is a matter of life and death, not like you went and bought a new car and just stopped making the payments or something. They must realize that and being the fact that they can't refuse treatment they just give up on trying to get money from you. I don't think I've ever paid the ER and I definitely didn't pay a cent for my appendectomy. They called me all the time for a couple years and just stopped after a while. Last I checked my credit isn't so bad because I pay all my real bills

Damn social boomin lately.

You should have used "swim" in that post bro. Now everyone knows what you did. I'm fucking with you man. Really though that's some bullshit for your own blood to be that way. They must be doing too much of there own meth and getting all paranoid and shit. I always heard everyone has a gun in Texas I guess that's true.

Are you taking your girl with you? Are you taking that job as a guide?
