haha those are some really good points. sure as hell beats Nashoba Valley though. that place bloooows. Good place to learn basics though. I guess it's more of the locals that frequent the place that I don't really like.

I almost walked our at work last night. I talked to my GM about that money I supposedly took home Friday night and told him I need to know who took the info down and how I was able to cashout/clock out with open tickets and his explanation was that another assistant manager kept them open, which to me make it sound like its his responsibility. Either way I'm taking it to corporate to be reimbursed because I paid them $68 out of my own pocket. I don't even know if I told the social the story but they said Friday I had two open tickets for a total of $68 that they said I took home. I had a HORRIBLE night both tip and table wise and took home $12. I also told my GM I refuse to work if the assistant manager that kept those tickets open is closing because he keeps us there until midnight (this has happened 6 times) but I get cut anywhere from 9-10:30 so I'm sitting up to ab hour and a half without the opportunity to make money and that's bullshit. That assistant manager closes tonight and I'm just not coming in tonight. If they want to write me up foe no call/no show its whatever. This restaurant is a fucking mess and its not going to get any better until they get rid of this assistant manager

I also saw the same assistant manager take $40 out of the to go drawer and out it in his pocket (he doesn't know I saw) but I'm not sure whether to tell my GM because he prolly won't believe me. This would explain why this assistant manager is always giving folks free. Food. I think he found a way to report it to corporate as paid but getting the $$ out the register in the amount of however much he's given away. I know some crooked shit is going on because I certainly didn't take that money and he had no right or reason to keep those checks open

I like working around big heavy dangerous equipment. It keeps everyone relatively friendly because sometimes our lives depend on one another.

Just last week at work one of my friends was driving a nail & this newer boy comes up, they get to arguing & my friend says, "If you step to me, I will smack you in the face with this goddamn hammer."

lol

Yeah if I go to a place like that or Bradford, I just mess around and the only thing that makes it worthwhile is hitting jumps. I'm no trick skier, though, just try to get some decent air and distance, also not hurt myself in the process. I just got regular downhill skis, but I'd like to buy a pair of those twin tip ones that are designed for doing tricks.

There is one place called Tenney Mountain in southern NH, its pretty small, I would say about the size of Wachusett. But they have 2 pretty nice terrain parks. Their whole marketing scheme is towards a younger crowd for boarders and twin tip skiers. One Friday and Saturday nights they are open until 3 AM, and you can get a 9pm-3am ticket or a 5pm-3am ticket, both for pretty cheap. On those nights they run trick contests and local radio stations sponsor them and blast music. Also the locals all seem to party at the bottom around this huge bon fire.

Having a hammer in hand usually diffuses the situation. Lol

Nice to see Bretton Woods mentioned, my old best friends family owned a huge stake of that resort. Used to go skiing there all the time when I was living in Lancaster, NH. In the mid 90's.

Used to get grams of good dope in the Gorham/Berlin area, got that connection from walking up to some hippy guy in a book store and asking for weed. Next thing you know boom, a nice steady hook-up, which sure as fuck beat stocking up in Boston or waiting for deliveries from Chicago.

that's cool that you were able to make a connection for dope in a pretty remote area, especially in the 90s when I'm sure the supply in areas like NH would be a lot more scare and you really had to know someone and be in the loop to have a solid connection.

Was there any mark up compared to what you were paying when you would go down to Boston?

^na, lampworkers use a stationary torch attached to the bench they're working on.

Those are just hardware-store propane torches... looks like he's making REALLY INTENSE creme brûlée.

A cousin of mine did that for a little while. Mostly spying on people faking an injury for a variety of reasons or of course spying on cheaters. Can be weird hours man but, he said it wasn't all bad because if you're following people into restaurants and clubs you can't just sit there and stare so all your food and drink is paid for. Sometimes his boss would find out where he was and meet him for drinks while they were watching people too.
