Opioids Narcotic Availability in Japan

So I'll be moving to Japan next month for a year for school, and I had heard from a few different people that their FDA-equivalent was much lighter than ours, and as such they have some crazy drugs on the market that we don't have here. (posting from America) I typically stick to hydrocodone and oxycodone, and as such I was wondering if anyone knew if some sort of variant of either of these or an equivalent was readily available with a trip to the doctor complaining of some pain, if not available OTC.

Any information or experience on this matter is appreciated, thanks guys!
