Opioids naproxen vs opiods

If your doc is going to be a dick then order some tramadol off line. Many sites will overnight. Tramadol is really good for back pain too.
 
Ask ur doctor if lyrica (pregabalin) is right for u. Its perfect for nerve pain. U can get tramadol or kratom online but I think lyricas what youre looking for. Ur already in pain, itd be like 1000x worse during opioid withdraws plus u feel like u have the flu and restless leg sydrome, if u get an opioid DO NOT ABUSE IT since u dont know where to get street opioids.

The naproxen is doing absolutely nothing. The pain is so freaking bad.

The subutex is on order now and will be with me shortly. I've taken a naproxen already and some codeine earlier today. I've also had a couple of glasses of wine and a couple of beers (yea stupid I know). I guess the advice would be to not take a 0.25 of a subutex pill tonight?

P.s. im off work so getting a bit high would be OK.

Btw dont mix subutex with codeine u may go thru terrible withdraws even if ur not dependant (seriously look it up). It sounds u want to get high which is a terrible idea if the main goal is to use opioids for pain. Its really not stupid to mix alcohol with opioids at all if u know what ur doing or going to work on opioids either. If ur pains that bad switch doctors n make sure u dont show any signs of drug seeking behavior.

In the name of HR, it is, in general a bad idea to mix opiates/opioids with alcohol...period.

Why are you talking about him mixing subs with codeine? Where did the codeine come into play? And Im not sure what you mean that he would go through terrible withdrawals even if not dependent? Are you talking about with codeine specifically? Normally for subs to cause PWDs, you would definitely have to have been taking the other narcotic (codeine) for awhile or be physically dependent on it...the worse it will do if you are not dependent on it is just cause it to not be as effective...so I am not sure what you are talking about here.
 
I've found Naproxen is excellent, imo head over heels the best OTC painkiller (in the US). Back in my football playing days I would take it for practice and games on a regular occasion. It almost was euphoric in a sense because it allowed me to play with no aches and that was a huge help. I also use to smoke MJ before practice and on a couple occasions took vicodin before a game. As good as the Naproxen was, the vicodin was even better. I see what Brett Favre was thinking. I played much more confidently and minor pain was of little issue.
 
Yeah, I agree with that. I'm on suboxone, so my options re painkillers are very limited, though the bupe itself is actually an excellent painkiller, so I'm not really bothered by everyday aches and pains as a rule. If I've been in real bad pain in the past (I wonder if bupe's still used in hospitals? It used to be in the UK under the name Temgesic) the naproxen did exactly what it's supposed to. Paracetamol combined with ibuprofen if used periodically is also an effective painkiller.

Yeah in other countries like the UK bupe is used in very small doses for pain and is very effective. In the US, they perscribe it for animals as a pain killer. Ha the first time I saw it, I took my cat home and saw on the bag, "buprenorphine". I'm like, what the fuck? My cat is taking the same shit as I am.

They gave her like 5 oral syringes filled with liquid bupe.
 
I just wanted to say don't underestimate the pain killing power of NSAIDs. They do work in high doses but you need to take them as prescribed, not just when you think you need it for pain relief. If it says 1 every 6 hours, do that.

I had back to back surgery on both of my feet feet in November and December, 7 weeks apart, so I was pretty much on oxy and Vicodin for 2.5 months. When it was time to get off the oxy, I was worried because the second surgery was excruciating.....and he gave me a script for 600 mgs of ibuprofen (gee thanks).

I'm still on it.

Let me just say not only does it control the pain, but it helps with the swelling, and cured the tendonitis in my arm that I had for 5 months. I never knew.

Give it some time and keep an open mind. It just might work.

After my second surgery I was in so much pain for 3 days that the oxy didn't even touch it. Pain sometimes can't be helped :-(

Bupes used in vetinary medicine in the UK as well.
My mother-in-law cat was burned in a shed fire a few years back and when we got the bill back it said diamorphine, morphine and buprenorphine were used over a two week period for pain relief....dont know if the cat had withdrawals though, or PAWS! (im sorry that was awful.lol).

Regarding what you said about sometimes pain cannot be helped and that oxy didn't touch your pain..I just wanted to make a comment. There is always something that will help...oxy certainly isn't the top of the line of pain killers..your doc may not have neen willing to give you something stronger but there is no ceiling on most pain meds.
 
A lot of people write off NSAIDs because they are not an opiate and you don't get a slight buzz or some euphoria. I use to be the same way. If I was in pain (torn rotator) and all I could take was an NSAID I would convince myself they weren't working at all just because of the fact I couldn't "feel" the drug working aka buzz and euphoria
 
Guy on HR forum asks what 'HR' is. Then says oh I'm off work so don't mind getting high.... So to rephrase your real question should have been; "Does naproxen have any recreational value?" To which the answer would have been no and the thread would have been closed....
