Can any one tell a difference between generic brand tussin vs. Brand name robotussin? I just tried the name brand robo last night and i feel like the effects were different from the cvs brand which i normally use if I trip off dxm but I cant really pinpoint the differences. For one it tastes alot better, thats for sure.

Nothing is really different save the inactive ingredients, which ultimately don't affect anything. That is, unless you are allergic to some dyes or flavorings used. They both contain DXM as their active ingredients, that's what matters. How much DXM they actually contain might be different, but if there is any difference it's usually not much anyways. I've taken identical doses of generic DXM caps and Robocaps before on multiple occasions, and I haven't noticed any difference between their effects. However, your experience might not be similar, especially with syrups. One syrup may contain more sugar than the other, which may contribute to a more unpleasant trip. I doubt there would be much of a difference even if that was the case.

In my opinion, the brand you choose isn't likely to cause much of a difference so long as it contains DXM as it's only active ingredient. Does one of the brands you chose have any other active ingredients other than DXM, such as guaifenesin or acetaminophen? If it does, that would be what is most likely causing the differences in your trips. You might also want to check the amount of syrup per bottle, and the amount of DXM per ml they contain. Small differences like these could cause your trips to feel a bit different.

Anyways, hope that helped. :)
