So i got implant for 3 months as far as i know however doctor told me to go back after 2.5 months to get another one. Well i did not want this implant but had problems with money so had to get it. Now i have money and brown but this implant does not seem to dissolve. I can squeeze the scar which has a form of letter H and feel that its still inside. Its been 2.5 months already and it does not seem to get smaller. Im thinking of cutting it out because brown does not work at all ( i shoot it ). Can anyone give me some advise ? Im interested of those who had this implant how long did it took to dissolve?

I am not familiar with this type of implant but I would still say do not cut it out your self. You can do a lot of damage to your self and you can get a bad infection. Go back to the dr and have it removed professionally and tell them your concerns. If its not working for you, you need to tell them that.

The doctor is not in my city. Could i call an ambulance and lie to them that it hurts and i need it removed?

Please do not cut it out! I saw some gruesome photos of serious complications and infections people had from cutting them out themselves, I wish I could find them.

We can't condone lying to doctors, but if you are adamant at getting it removed then yes trying to get it removed professionally is a much better idea than trying to do it yourself.

Of course the obvious option is to leave it in, not buy heroin (or flush that heroin down the toilet if you already have it) and work on your addiction through techniques to cope with cravings, going to meetings etc. Remember all the reasons you wanted to stop heroin in the first place.

As for how long the effects of a naltrexone implant will last, it is impossible to say precisely how long an implant will last in any given individual but 3 months is considered the MINIMUM. Plus the naltrexone will still take a while to leave your body after it is removed.

As for when it will dissolve, it takes a long time to dissolve and the polymers in the implant take longer to dissolve than the duration of action of the naltrexone (meaning it will still be there even after the naltrexone is no longer working).
