Hey Bronson, I am new to Bluelight so I'm not sure the appropriate avenues for asking the administrators questions.. if there is a better way than dropping to a a thread that is already in progress then let me know and I'll do that in the future... but here's my question:
I have been taking suboxone for the past couple months and recently relapsed. it had been between 24 and 36 hours since my last dosing of suboxone, 8 mg strip.
I keep reading and hearing that the naloxone in suboxone doesn't actually have any blockade effect as we users have been lead to believe. Apparenly the binding affinity of buprenorphine is so much stronger that the naloxone simply loses the battle?
Anyway... I took a solid 45 mg of oxycodone and the only effect I got was a little bit of dizziness and scatter-brain <-- advanced medical terms, I know. Ha. Certainly no euphoria, nodding, comfortable numbness etc. Basically none of the effects I am used to and expect when I take a large opiate dose.
So, once the bupe wears off does the Naloxone then bind to the opioid receptors and block the weaker opiate strands like oxycodone, or am I just psyching myself out? Also, if the naloxone is blocking the effects of the oxy about how long will it be before I am able to feel the regular opiate high again? I am 25, male, exercise regularly and have what I consider to be a healthy, consistent diet. I don't drink very often, and when I do it's very small amounts. I do smoke a half pack of cigarettes daily, but otherwise I am on no other medications; over-the-counter or RX.
I know the obvious answer to all of this is "Stop taking opiates you retard", but alas I am a weak man so I am in need of your expertise.
Thank you sir!
