Naloxone challenge

I have to do a study where i will be given a "naloxone challenge" to make sure i am not opiate dependent. I've been taking 100-200mg of morphine (MS contin chewed) a day for a couple of weeks, sometimes taking more. Before that I took 40-160mg of oxy a day for a month or so.

Its tuesday today, the study starts next thursday, and Im not sure when the naloxone will be administrered but its probably on the friday. im gonna get high today and probably tomorrow as well and after that im gonna CT it and I got a couple questions.

First off, Ive never been through morphine withdrawal before, only hydromorphone and oxy w/d. How long does morphine w/d take and will I be more or less back to OK after a week off? TBH i can go a day and a half without dosing before even feeling w/d start to creep in.

Also, say I stop on thursday and am given naloxone next friday (8 days later) will it have any w/d producing effect? What about if it was 7 days later? 6? 5? (its hard ya know)
basically what is the time frame from when i stop using morphine to when it is ok to get naloxoned and not produce obvious w/d effects. How long does morphine w/d last anyway will i have noticable w/d effects a week after (noticable to an outside observer, not myself obviously).

The morphine will be completely out of your system so the it won't cause you WD's to get naloxone. Quit as far ahead as you can so you don't have visible WD's even before the naloxone is given.

Think a week is enough time off to not have visible WD's? With dillies it was usually over in 4 days but i hear morphine takes longer and i never fully w/d with oxys.

Dillies are also the only thing I've WD'd off of so your guess is as good as mine. As long as the time available permits I'd say.

Yeah I agree, the longer the beter. The naloxone challange is not something you want to be a part of if you still have opiates in your system. For the most part, 7 days is the most common amount of time people are advise to have not used prior to the naloxone. Don't push your luck by using an extra couples days thinking you'll be alright. So not worth it.
