N00b

Well I am a noob at this I really don't know what I am doing but I have questions that I would like informed people to help me make some medical decisions.

I have taken an SSRI twice (the second time doesn't matter I wasn't on it long enough to know how it would effect my current state of depression....) But I took Paxil and I have a cutting issue and it made it worsen and I even got stitches because the cuts were so deep... They threw me in a psych-ward for like a week and switched me to prozec and fuck I took like four days worth and I said fuck that and I stopped it immediately, so I didn't know how it will effect me.... But now my doctor wants me to try Celexa... I don't know about it.
Can anyone tell me if you can climax on the SSRI, or is it with all SSRI's that you don't climax? 8)

 

Climax as in orgasm? Some (actually, many IIRC) make it quite tough, and will often remove most desire. One of the reasons why many people refuse to use SSRIs. Everything has pros and cons though, and for some it may be worth it.

BTW, you should check out The Dark Side. There are many wonderful, supportive people there who have been through similar situations and who would be happy to help in whatever way that they can. I've never had an issue with cutting, so I can't really help you on that end.

and as for being n00b, fuck that, we're all the same here, and you'll find 95% of the people to be really friendly and nice, even if they might not appear so from a first glance, e.g. me: I write brash and crude alot, but I dont really mean it as so, its just how I write.

and quick answer: its possible to orgasm on SSRI's but most people find either extremly difficult or impossible. it depends on the person, dosage and the drug being used.

if your that worried about that side effect, ask your doc about wellbutrin/bupropion, very effective AD that doesnt interfere with orgasm.
