"Eclipse 2012 in Cairns Australia has been a hot topic of festival patrons for several years now, with details being quite minimal and mysterious. With just over a year to go we are very happy to bring you some exciting details on what will be a unique and unforgettable event.

Eclipse 2012 will be a collaboration involving some of the best known event organisers from around the globe, including Rainbow Serpent Festival (Australia), Symbiosis (USA) and Glade Festival (UK) plus support from some other well known crews.

The festival will go for six days between the 10th and 16th of November 2012, with the eclipse itself happening early in the morning of the 14th. The location is in the very North of Australia, with the closest city being Cairns.

With the eclipse falling on the special date of 2012, approximately one month before the long awaited end of the Mayan calendar cycle there will be a strong focus on healing, arts and holistic information.

Naturally you can expect to see some of the biggest and best producers, DJ’s and artists from around the world covering the styles of trance, progressive, techno, dub, breaks, house , ambient and everything in between.

Please join our mailing list and check back regularly for news and releases. There will also be information on how musicians, DJs, artists, decor people and others can apply to be involved.

i bought tickets for my partner and i the other day. its going to be a good birthday surprise :)
can't stop wondering who will end up playing at this!! it's going to be the best festival in the world!
 
I don't think I could justify spending an entire week at a festival like this though. Would be nice if there were cheaper tix for just a couple of days :\

Im doing a solo euro trip for a month in July too, so much crazy shit this year

Hah, me too.. i leave in a couple of weeks, going solo for 3 months or more.. gonna checkout the BOOM festival in Portugal in late July. I probably wont be here for eclipse, i bet it would be amazing though.. most of my friends are heading over from Perth later in the year.
 
Ah dude come to antaris festival!!
Or come hang out in Amsterdam from the 17th onwards.
Would be sweet to have a little bL meetup there!

Haha, i went to google information on that and clicked on one of the links and it turned out to be your BL thread about it in E&A Discussion. I might try and schedule something around this festival so i can be in Germany around those dates.. at the moment June/July is completely unplanned for me. I'll see what ends up happening.. hopefully i can grab a ticket on the gate or something ;)
 
Hahah awesome. They should have tickets available there. Will probably cost a lot more than presales though.
The day after antaris I'm flying from Hamburg to Amsterdam for 7 nights :) whack that into your itinerary!!
 
Just moved to Townsville, and thought the only taste of the music I love I would have to go down to Sydney once a year, so excited to do a bit of research guys =) what type of music you guys going to playing? make me smile and say hard trance and maybe hardcore, know im pushing my luck but hey no harm in asking and making questions?
 
@ revolve: better get motivated soon! Ticket prices are skyrocketing and I can imagine plane reservations will soon be hard to book.
@grapple: I think the genres will be a mix of progressive psy, psytrance, glitch/minimal/techno, ambient, dub etc.. Basically the styles you would hear at a psytrance party, or 'doof'.
Doubt there will be any hardcore or hard trance. I think they are aiming away from the typical 'rave' feel.
