Hello everyone i'm new to this website so i hope i dont offend anyone by posting this here . If I do sorry and just delete it.

Where to begin, for the last few years i was smoking weed religiously daily all day long. Until about 5 months ago i did my first "hard drugs". Mollys, i handled it relatively well i think. It was with my best friend who was an experienced user of it and said that it some of the best stuff he's ever had. Apparently if it tastes like black liquorish thats a good indicator . ( so he says)

Well anyway , that's really the extent of my drug usage and stopped smoking weed about 4 months ago. Because every-time i smoked i would get a "weird" feeling. ( Dont want to say panic attack ) i think it was just a mental thing because i abused it. During that time i've been getting into videos and reading about DMT, ayaushca , shrooms or other physcadelics. I'm very interested in trying all of them and with much luck recently came into some free N.N-DMT.

Its from a friend at work , who got it from *somewhere* He said he's going to cut whatever he has in half and give me it. Also , i've never done any psychedelics so i was curious is N.NDMT to strong for a first time user ??

**Sorry if this isn't very informative , feel free to ask anything ! Thanks

Hi, welcome to bluelight. We don't talk about sources here so a moderator will probably edit your post.

I find DMT is a really user friendly drug in the sense that you can explore shallow waters until you feel confident to dive in. Low doses are interesting and very visual but not at all intimidating. As you feel ready, you can take more.

You'll hear people talking about "breakthrough" doses. According to some, it's not worth doing DMT below this dose. I've smoked an awful lot of DMT and never really identified where this point is meant to be. I also don't like people telling me what doses are worthwhile and what aren't. I've had incredibly enlightening experiences from low and high doses alike.

So my advice is, walk your own path with DMT. Don't let others tell you how your personal relationship with the substance should be. Also don't be afraid. Even if it takes you somewhere you don't understand, you'll be back in familiar territory within 3 or 4 minutes.

Hello, Buildersoftime.

Thanks for the response.

There's a few things that make me feel a little uncomfortable. You read about people seeing Demons or scary stuff talking to them. Right in your face almost. Is this something i should expect or is this just a person to person basis. Basically , DMT showing the inner you to yourself ?.

I'm nervous about doing it but i have a good friend that ill be doing this with, who happens to be a drama/English teacher . He has a way with words that i think would be very calming if i become overwhelmed. Also , is it something that makes your heart rate go up like crazy , breathing so on ? Or are you in such "awe" that things like that aren't noticeable ?

You'll need to smoke a hell of a lot of DMT to have a freak out IMHO. It's over so quickly that if you get anxious just try to remember that in 5 - 10 mins you'll be nearly back to normal. Your more than likely going to smoke a small bowl and be like "wow, I thought it would be crazier than that. "These breakthrough experiences where people talk to entities are with very large amounts. Also the smoke tends to be somewhat caustic and tastes bad so it can be difficult for some to smoke a lot of it.
Happy trails!!!

I find the quality of DMT trips to be incredibly intense. While I am given a reassured feeling most of the time, going into it without mental preparations can easily make me feel like I have lost my mind completely. This is transient and I return to normal pretty quickly once the effects wear off and most after-effects are positive, but the fact that one goes through that intensity makes me have the utmost reverence and respect for this substance, much more than any other. Like mushrooms it can be punishing if you don't do it right.
Which I can tell you from personal experience can have a traumatising aspect, though I am not trying to scare you.

Ideally, I think a person should start with psychedelics that are more forgiving and that don't come up instantly so that there is ample time to deal with the effects, and also enough time to process what happens and get a lot out of it in the end. When vaporised, which can be a bitch to perfect for a beginner, DMT is described like a flash and often I remember bits and pieces of it which are abstracted like a dream because it is so different as if in another dimension.
Oral DMT is probably much more worthwhile in terms of being able to remember and process the experience but it has its own challenges.
Also low or medium dose DMT can be extra weird or anxious probably because you are halfway in but not enough to properly run the course. I find that pretty different compared to a lot of other regular psychedelics taken orally and lasting several hours.

I'm not telling you you can't or shouldn't take DMT, but it's in its own class - it has a very beautiful and astonishing side, it also has an ineffable mystical side and combined with the intensity there isn't much that can prepare a person anyway before starting to take DMT (that is true IMO even for people who have already done DMT!), but I don't think it is a practical or ideal example of what to start with, what to try at a low dose and slowly working your way up with and giving effects that are a tad more predictable, understandable and processable.

What if your first time sex was an instant orgasm, the orgasm of your life, lasting about 5-10 minutes and then soon it all dissipates... ? yeah that is awesome in its own right but it doesn't necessarily seem like a representative demonstration of everything that naturally has to do with it. I feel similar about DMT: it is a very strong and compact version of a trip, but there is usually a lot more to tripping, the gradual comeup, the peak, the plateau, the comedown... that is chronologically.
Qualitatively there are also a lot of developments. DMT hits you in the face and happens very quickly and it's too much too fast to really appreciate the full extent of a trip (again: the DMT flash is marvellous in its own way, maybe even one of the best).
It's not like it's too late to experience that later if you take DMT now, but just consider this in your decision.

We have a first time DMT thread and I'm sure this question comes up a lot:

Good luck, be safe, read up a lot!
