Mytussin AC from 2005??

I just found some Tussin AC (with codein) while cleaning out my grandmothers house prescribed to her in 2005.
Chances I’ll still feel something from it? Would the codein even still be active?

The codeine should work fine, the problem might be fungus or other pathogens growing inside as i assume it was opened.

Maybe boiling or mixing with everclear would help? If it is just codeine it may not be worth.
