Mystery still surrounds 170kg pseudoephedrine drug discovery in Bardwell Park car crash
POLICE are still looking for the driver of a crashed car from December that led to the chance discovery of a 170kg pseudoephedrine drug haul.
Detectives have released computer-generated images of two men who may be able to assist with inquiries over the $13 million stash found in Sydney’s south last year.
The green Toyota Camry sedan — with NSW registration BR-64-PK — crashed into two parked cars on Hartill Law Ave at Bardwell Park about 7.20pm on December 12 before the driver ran from the scene.
Police then arrived and searched the car, where they found two blue ice chests and six white buckets, all filled with a number of vacuum-sealed bags of white powder.
The powder was later confirmed to be pseudoephedrine, a product found in over-the-counter drugs. It can be extracted and used in large quantities in the production of methamphetamine or the drug ‘ice’.
Strike Force Dross was formed to investigate the matter.
The man depicted in the first image released today by investigators is described as being of caucasian appearance, aged between 20 to 25 years old, with a medium build, short brown hair, brown eyes, and clean-shaven.
