My xanax seems to not be working.... effect from meth use?

Ok I get a xanax script every 2 weeks (2mg bars 3x a day). I usually just have fun with them and theyre gone in 3 days or so... so i only take xanax once every 2 - 2 1/2 weeks. Well I just got done with a 5 day meth binge ( i was able to sleep a few hours here and there during this time). I ended my binge on tuesday the same day I got my xanax and I noticed they did nothing for me. So the next day I took 4 of them (8mg) and felt NOTHING. Could this be a resuly of the meth and the meths effects on my gaba receptors? Ive used and taken xanax before while on meth, or when coming down for meth and its always worked. I have the yellow 2mg totem poles. I dont understand why im not feeling anything and its sky rocketing my anxiety cause im afraid I wont be able to take them when I need them now (when i have panic attacks, etc).

Do any of you have ANY insight on this? I havent done ANY meth since around 2am monday morning, got my xanax about 3pm tuesday. I took 2.... felt nothing. Then i waited 2 days, which is today, and decided to experiment and took 4 of them (8mg). Nothing. Anyone have any idea why this is happening????

The meth should stop it from working. More then likely your are experiencing more overall anxiety due to the previous meth use and therefore the xanax is not having the effect your are expecting and thus seems like its not working. But not feeling it at all is wierd.

The yellow Purepac bars, in my experience, are often worthless. Switch pharmacies or ask your pharmacy to stock either Greenstone or Sandoz, as these are consistently effective-again this is from my experience, I have been using Xanax regularly since 1991.

Stimulants such as methamphetamine are known to counter-act the effects of benzos like Xanax/alprazolam. Not to mention that stimulant use often increases anxiety.

That, combined with tolerance, is probably whats happening. Take meth (and stimulants in general) out of the picture completely if you suffer from anxiety.

well i havent taken any meth at all in over a week, got a new xanax script this morning and i got the green 3 scored bars instead of the yellow ones. right off the bat just to test them and see if i got any effect i took 3 of them. and once again, i feel nothing at all. ive been on xanax for years (like 6) and ive never taken my meds and felt no effect before i dont know whats going on. do you tihnk maybe i should try not taking any xanax for like a month or so and do you think that will letm y body re adjust to them? im scared now cause im afraid the one medicine in this world that allows me to function normally and be apart of society is now no longer working and i dontknow what ro do
