Flower My weed jar broke and I was wondering and hoping that smoking it out of a bong would prevent any small pieces of glass from damaging my lungs?

thinking about it now, i guess sometimes water splashes up hitting a bong, so why couldn't a piece of glass be in that... idk... i'd prob use a filter on a joint at least... also you could get a screen for the bong like mentioned..

yeah. i'd think it could get worse than lung scarring, and like kill a person if they were to inhale the wrong way... but i still would've taken my friend's 1/8th he threw out, esspecially at the time when weed was a hassle to get.

i'd be more worried about getting a bag with some kind of mold you can't really see and getting a lung infection or something than this situation with glass pulling through a bong or joint with a filter... wrap up a nice joint with a filter, and the OP is all good, unless physics change or something and stuff magically moves through the filter.

this being a harm reduction board, i still don't even want to recommend smoking it incase some weird miracle happened where glass passes through a filter or whatever. lol...i'd still be smoking it though.... i have a bunch of weed that is actually five years old, and i'm tempted to smoke some of the outdoors. it was pretty harsh when it was new, so i'm just gonna throw it out, but it still tempts me.
 
i had a cart recently where the thread was stripped, so i cracked open the glass and was putting chunks of glass in the bong and ripping the oil off them.
 
Some are press fit rather than threaded. Super fkin annoying, I have a few carts that are pressed rn and I haven't been able to get them open nicely :(

Well, you can get the top of the cart off, but getting all the oil out is actually a challenge. I've had a lot of difficulties doing that. Heat it, obviously, but there is always a remainder due to surface tension.
 
Any nanoparticles which would get through the water and the gravity coming up to your lungs after the water are so fine that they would be no different than dust and dirt in the air along the side of the road. Your lungs will self clean a certain amount of inert, non-organic particles.
