I have gotten what I think are absolutely amazing pills but have never tested them. I got the pill from great friends that have rolled probally 100 times and from their expierience they say the pill are great.
So my question is I ordered the marqui test.

I noticed that the reagent will turn black purple with MDMA.

Sometimes pills are Dark Red, Purple, Blue, ect. Will the result of the reagent still be very noticeable?

Is it true the faster it turns the more MDMA is in the pills???

What is the best way to test the pill. Just cut a 1/4 off of it and smash it into powder and test that small amout of powder.

Ive been reading that some pills contain as little as 30mg and others as much as 100mg. How will I know more or less the mg in the pills.

After i drop the reagent on the pill and see either purple or black how will i know what other substances are in the pill.

Should I order other testing material and if so what is recommended.

Im doing this to avoid hurting myself and others around me. (Trying not to get adulterated pills) so please do not lock this thread. I havent identified any of the pills and need help. Or moderator please PM me.

Sounds like a lot of the questions I had when I first got my test kit. I've learned a lot since then, so lemme see if I can help.

First of all, you don't need anywhere near 1/4 of a pill to test. You literally only need a tiny scraping of the pill. I use a serrated knife (actually, I use a pumpkin carving knife because the serrated bits are very small, plus I easily know which knife is my pill knife) and just saw a bit off at the edge to get some powder. The picture in this report is an example of how much you can scrape off a pill for 3 tests: http://www.pillreports.com/index.php?page=display_pill&id=21315 Not much. That's also a very bad Marquis reaction...

The dye in the pill can effect the color of the results, specially if there's a ton of dye in the pill, but usually you can tell. The reagent's color is pretty distinct, and if your pill is chock full of MDxx it should be deep and dark and the dye won't make a difference at all.

Pay close attention to the entire reaction. Even if they're high MDxx pills, a slight color change to say, brown, before it starts going black will indicate Amphetamines. I still have troubles with this part and it really does just take a lot of practice. Usually, the puddle will "flash" another color before it starts turning black and that's usually the indication of something else. That other color will usually tint the whole puddle. So if you have a dark muddy brown-black puddle, that could indicate Amphetamines.

Pretty much, what you're looking for is a deep, dark purplish black all throughout the reagent puddle. That indicates a decent-high loading of MDxx in the pill. If the puddle is watery, streaky or blotchy, even if it's purple/black, it would indicate a low loading of MDxx, or possibly just enough MDxx to "fool" a test, even though there's a lot more of something else in the pill.

Keep in mind that none of the reagents will test for Pipes. Weak reactions (like the pill report I posted above) may look like they contain a little MDxx but the reagents aren't reacting to anything else... that because they don't react to the Pipes that could be in there. Weak reactions are a red flag that you've got a potential Pipe, but they won't tell you for certain. At the same time, strong reactions won't tell you if the pill contains a Pipe either, so keep that in mind. But usually, anyone who's going to spend the resources to fill a pill with MDxx isn't going to dump a bunch of Pipe in there as well.... usually.

As for how much MDxx is actually in a pill... there's no way to know with an at home test kit. If you have a strong reaction, that is usually a good indication that the pills have a good amount of MDxx, at least enough to break the threshold. But whether it's quality MDxx or enough to get you floored or rolling for hours and hours... you have no way of knowing by testing. That's why consumption reports are just as important as they actual test results.

And as for other tests... I got by with Simons, Marquis and Robadope just fine for a while. The Simons will tell you if there's any MDMA in the pill and the Robadope will tell you if there's MDA or Amphetamines, and along with the Marquis they can give you a pretty good indication of whats in the pill. The other tests are handy if you get really into testing or get the Mandelin if you're concerned with Ketamine being in pills. The Mecke test is handy if you're worried about 2-C-T-xx.

Also, this link is handy: http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/mdma/mdma_faq_testing_kits.shtml

Also, make sure to test on a white ceramic, plastic or glass plate. No metal (as it's porous) or paper (they seem to mess with the reaction a bit.) When you use a plate, designate it for testing only, as these are very harsh chemicals and though it wouldn't kill you to eat off the plate after washing it... it's just probably better not to. Also let the reactions change on their own and don't go swirling it around with a toothpick or anything. I used to do that, but I've since noticed that they can tweek the colors a bit. It might be alright to correct your puddle a little bit, but try to leave the puddle alone as much as you can. :D

Hope that helps!
