Hello everyone,

I'm from Australia, I grew up in a small suburb called Cabramatta in Sydney, I have quit smoking heroin for 7 years until I met some of my old friends 6 months ago, I had alot of stress from work lately so I decided to smoke abit of heroin with them (I know that is very stupid and I really regret doing that) and guess what before you know it I was back on it again, I smoked for about 2 months and my dose got up to 2 grams a day, now with my current job there is no way I can support that habit, I didn't want to go back to dealing it and end up back in jail, and I don't want to blug it of my friends everyday, so a friend introduce one of his customers that was selling suboxone, he was selling 8mg pills or swapping it for heroin, so I was getting suboxone of him every week for the last 3 months, I was taking two 8 mg pills a day until 3 and half weeks ago he got done for breaking and entering and he is currently locked up, so I had only the left overs from before which was about 32 mg left so straight away I cut down on it and took one 8 mg a day then 4mg a day and I did feel pretty bad when I got to 1mg but even ended up breaking that up in half so in 2 weeks I dropped down to 0.5mg per day, I was on 0.5 for 5 days and ran out, now I got nothing and I've flew to another state to get away from my friends or I would end up getting heroin off them, I don't want to touch that shit any more, I will try my best not to touch it after I quit the subs, so at the moment I'm stuck in Melbourne in a hotel, today is my 8th day without anything, I don't even have the energy to go back home, I have read alot on the internet about subs and every forum has different replys, some say the 3rd day is the worst, some say the 5th day is the worst, but to me I felt the worst last night, that was on day 7, on the second day I started to feel like shit but nothing compared to last night, I only slept for about 1 hour the whole night tossing and turning, I have real sore legs and back, keep yawning, I just want to ask some experts with subs is my withdrawls gonna get worst or better?

Suboxone w/d is not like normal, full agonist opioid w/d. It's much MUCH longer lasting, although also often much less intense. The most intense days for you will probably be day 6 - day14. By day 10 it might start getting a little better, but expect the w/d to linger from two weeks up to a month and a half. It's won't be too bad after two weeks - some symptoms will not be present at all, and those that are will be minimal. But certain issues will linger for a while longer.

Eating right, staying busy, having fun, having sex/masturbating, EXERCISE, and getting enough sleep is key for you right now.

GOOD LUCK OP!!! You've done something amazing, and I CONGRATULATE you!!!

You should go over to The Dark Side and post about this. The good people over there will give you lots of support and suggestions to get you through this.

Are you adverse to DXM? Can you get loperamide where you are? If you answer yes to either or both of those, I have some more suggestions for your if the w/d become unbearable (which I doubt). Again, bravo!

AND two more things: 1st, delete your mention of cost of the suboxone you bought. We DO NOT talk about prices here, unless it's for harm reduction stuff like testing kits. 2nd, in the future you should break up your posts into shorter, more legible paragraphs so it's easier for us to read. Point 1 is more important though. Use the edit feature to delete the pricing, or a mod will eventually do it for you.

You're very strong person to be able to get up and move away from all the opiates.

I'd say 8 days after, you've seen the worst of it - It will still be very hard from now on but things can only get better. Time will heal, our bodies are good like that.

If you go back to opiates it's just going to start all over again, but possibly even worse.

Just ride it out, man. You've gone this far. I I'm sure you'll be feeling A LOT better very, very soon.

Thanks for the quick reply, I have been eating properly, not busy, not having fun, not having sex or masurbating, trying to exercise, for me the withdrawls from subs are bad but it's nothing compared to getting straight off heroin, I can handle it cold turkey easily I'm just worried it might not go away after a month, cause I took my holidays early this year to get off this shit, and I only have 4 weeks to do that, if I'm still sick after 4 weeks then I'll be fucked for work, I'm not adverse to DXM and I don't know my way around here, thank you for your support.

Thank you for your support, I belive I can handle it ;)

If you're not adverse to DXM and you can legally get it where you are, you might want to try what I did when I got off dope - does 230-690mg of DXM for two or three days. I found that the NDMA antagonist effects of DXM totally alleviated any w/d I was experiencing. Might not work the same for bupe, but it's certainly worth a try. And shit, as long as you enjoy DXM's effects normally, it'll totally take you out of w/d while you're high off it.

Regarding loperamide, if you can get it, high doses will alleviate w/d.

I doubt you'll experience sever w/d after the one month mark. I mean, you weren't on subs for THAT long and you kinda tapered off them... You probably will still experience some w/d symptoms, but they will be very manageable by that time. Try not to stress about it too much. That's honestly not good for you ;) And I have confidence you'll be right as rain as long as you keep doing what you are doing! Which, as has been mentioned, is more or less EXACTLY the right thing to be done in your case.

Cheer! and again, the best of luck to you. (and again, go over to The Dark Side and post about this - they'll give you a lot of support and feedback, well, almost certainly more support than you'll get over here in OD, although ODers aren't thhhhhhattttt bad :p)
