Well anyone who read my last shroom post knows that I was in search for the famed Psylocibe cubensis mushroom. Well Ive been searching and searching, hunting and hunting, and to no avail. I have not found a single one! LOL it sounds quite rediculous when some of you have said that youve found many many in one day. I really do not know if Im lookin in the wrong place or not but I go after a rain to the cow fields and I just have no luck. Any help I mean ANY would be greatly appreciated. Im not givin up on my search lol thanks, Mikey

Errr...you could try hunting at some time other than the middle of summer I suppose - that might help

Mr. geezer, do you thik it would help? Ive had people tell me that this is a great time to pick. I kind of thought the fall might have been a better time. Where do you live by the way?

dude this is prime picking time, well atleast in South Florida it is, my friend has picked shrooms 5 days in a row and got shit loads everytime. Like I mean like 2 pounds or so everytime. Just go hopping from one Cow pasture to another one till you start finding them. But the conditions might not be right for picking them whereever you are. PEACE

Again, I deleted a few replies - THIS IS NOT YOUR PERSONAL MEETUP THREAD! If you want to meet on vacation then discuss this via e-mail, don't ruin a thread with this bullshit..
The obligatory http://www.shroomery.com link..
It depends on the area.. in the rural areas its not too hard to find them, in the more populated areas preventitive measures are taken to keep shrooms from growing - ALSO, flick the cap before you pull the shroom, this way, more spores will fall and there will be MORE shrooms ..
There are a number of fields in south/central Florida, where you can literally get pounds in a single run..

That flicking the cap shit is a retarded...There are thousands of spores generated from mushrooms everyday...Flicking the cap to try and knock some spores loose isn't going to make a damn bit of difference.

Anyway, to answer your question...I'd journey out to to the countryside after a good rainfall when everything is nice and damp...Plus, the less traveled the area and how far away from development it is the better.
But, hey, if you can't find 'em, grow 'em!

ok Ill try that out. but Im really looking for psylocibe cubensis which grows on cow dung. So Ive been going to cow fields. But Ill give the woods a try. Thanks

I dunna about it being total crap - there was a field out in Cocoa that was ran by this guy who was all cool with it as people would give him some too - his only rule, ya gotta flick 'em first ... people were there every weekend and it was easily the best field anywhere - TONS of shrooms .. but it might be crap!
