Hi all,

I have been taking Norco 10 for about two years now. I have tried all the brands, including brand name (which was identical to Watson appearance-wise). I like all except for Interpharm, because I am allergic to a filler in it I think. They each kind of have a different feel, but not too big of a deal. For example, Watsons tend to give me more energy, whereas Qualitest (the darker yellow "V"s) give me slightly better pain relief.

Two weeks ago I got an rx for a 30 count bottle, and chose to get the Qualitest. They worked great, as usual.

Two days ago, I obtained some more (140 to be exact,) and they are most certainly not fake; however, they feel completely different. And i have been taking varying brands for years. My mom who has also taken Norco a couple times before tried it and said she felt it felt different as well. My boyfriend, however, says I'm crazy and they feel fine for him. For some reason, this batch or whatever, is making me extremely sleepy, which is something Norco does NOT do to me. Its making me as sleepy as if i took a couple bars of Xanax with some beers. One of the things I like about Norco aside from the pain relieving properties is the extra boost of energy and productivity it gives me. Theyre not fake, because if they were, I'd be in major withdrawals, and Im not. They are also helping with the pain. But I am refusing to take them because I have an 8 month old child and cannot be tired and falling asleep all day long. Thats literally what this batch makes me do. I googled if there was a recall, and nothing came up.

I was so upset, I went to my regular doc and begged her to write another scrip, so I could go to Walgreens and get Watsons. I feel fine again, but I did used to prefer the Vs, as they give you a little less of a speedy feeling and are a bit more effective painwise. Im so confused. Don't they make batches by the thousands? Why did I get a batch that was perfectly fine a couple weeks ago, and then when I tried some other ones that came from a CVS in a different area, they are having this bizarre effect on me. Id like to think it could be sometihng else, but I have tried to cut out any variables, and it has the same effect every time. So much for quitting coffee, which I was wanting to do. After taking 20mgs of these norcos in the morning, i pass out. Not normal. Not once has this ever happened to me in my entire two years of experience with this medication.

I'm very disappointed and would like to get rid of these...but what a waste....

Has this ever happened before? are some batches "inconsistent"? Is Qualitest changing their labs or formula or whatever? Please note again, Norco has never, ever made me nod off or fall asleep or get tired in these amounts.

Any input is appreciated. Id hate for them to all go to waste.:(

It's Qualitest brand.. Yet ANOTHER case of bad quality from Qualitest. Look it up, nobody ever seems to be happy with their products.

I thought Qualitest was one of the favorites for Norcos, from the reading I have done online. I read their Xanax sucks, and I know their Endocet sucks (yes, Endocet is now made by Qualitest, the companies merged, but I've always disliked Percocet.) I have always read that Watsons and Qualitest are the two favorites when it comes to Norco. Interesting

I have tried both Qualitest norcos & Watson & for some reason, Qualitest has always given me a weird feeling/headache/& dizziness sometimes & felt like my blood pressure was rising. The Watsons are king when it comes to norcos imo/ime............they feel awesome & do a great job on pain & I dont get any side effects from them like I do with Qualitest........maybe im allergic to the fillers in Qualitest, I dont know but its weird!

There was a recall on these (*easily found using Google) exactly 2 months ago. It's possible that you got some of this batch because the recall was voluntary and sometimes a pharmacy would not have a high turnover and could still be giving out pills they've had for a while. But the supposed reason for the recall was just that they contained more than usual, at least more APAP and possibly more hydrocodone or inactive ingredients than usual. I suppose you could get more sedated if you were taking significantly more hydrocodone than you thought you were, but that seems unlikely.

It's also very possible it was something to do with your lifestyle, foods or environment.

All you can really do is report your side effects to your doctor and pharmacist.
