Personally I wouldn't chance it as there is more going on here than meets the eye. The GABA-B agonist effect seems to affect (not surprisingly) other neurotransmitter functions outside the GABA complex. I have most definitely felt some downstream dopamine (or PEA) effects (contraindicated with MAO-B inhibitors) and honestly wouldn't be surprised if the dopamimetic actions had an effect on serotonin levels (contraindicated with MAO-A inhibitors), whether or not there is an appreciable effect to cause a hypertensive crisis is not something I would want to play guinea pig for.

@FlawedByeDesign If you switch to the free amino acid version (sold as Phenibut FAA) it largely removes the digestive disturbance aspect of use. I too was experiencing some 'issues' with the HCl, mostly pain, bloating & undigested food particles in stools (ew).

HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT PHENIBUT!?

I ended up coming across it on some message board; I was looking for SOMETHING that had a KINDA LIKE FEELING OF GHB! I used to love GHB when it was avail to me; when I was living in NY in 01-04 GHB was a huge party drug and it was my fav. drug at the time; once I left NY and back to Boston GHB was much harder to come by; finding GBL, just as good, but even that ended up becoming a lost art, lol. so years went by w/o anything and I was browsing boards to find places to get either/or, but someone brought up Phenibut so I gave it a shot; at first I thought it was a joke cuz it takes 2-3 hours before you get the "feel" and the true feel is NOT like GHB but it is a good overall sense of "well-being" just like it says on the bottle, ha.

so, how did you guys find out about Phenibut?
 
I saw it mentioned on here, which is where I usually hear about all drugs that I eventually have tried in the past decade of browsing this forum. I believe I was hesitant to try it simply because the name is a bit weird & I never read past the pharmacology that stated it was a form of gamma aminobutyric acid which does not cross the BBB, so I assumed it was yet another useless supplement scam. After stumbling across a couple threads regarding dependence & abuse I was immediately intrigued :) I'm the kind of person that will immediately check Wikipedia to see if there is a section written about 'Recreational Use' lol.
 
speaking of that, do you know of any other things I can "try" by picking it up on the Internet? I am a heavy heroin user, so Kratom never works, but some people swear on it as a form of an opiate; might be something you'd want to try.

but yea, same way I came across Phenibut back in 07 or so; heard of it somehow on a board; not sure which one, but it was given to me as something to use instead of my normal GHB, which as I mentioned, I was FUCKING LOVING IT, man! ha.
 
^ You can literally buy any drug you can think of if you know how to use Tor & bitcoin, but going any further with that line of discussion would be prohibited. If you are a fan of opioids I started a thread today about a kratom extract that is in my opinion in the same exact league with real opiates, but it will cost you the same as a bag of our boston dope. However it's the first time I've had a form of kratom that I would be perfectly fine picking it over an equal dose of heroin or oxy.
 
I have tried phenibut a few times its great the anti anxiety properties are phenomenal I have a tub in the cupboard but left it alone now for a few months. my main worry with this stuff is the damage it can do to your insides. on 3 gram useses I have awoke with a sore back so have resisted to use it for months but I might have a couple of grams soon maybe I will get the magic I got off a gram the first time I used it talk about an awesome drug. This stuff feels amazing but I have alot of self control. So phenibut like all drugs which I have tried many will remain a treat now and again and not a daily or weekly thing.
 
Phenibut is a really interesting substance IMO. I never really got into it that much (I bought a bottle of it because I'm an enthusiast of GABAergics for their therapeutic value) but some people seem to really like it. I wish there was more research available in regards to it.

What I did find remarkable about phenibut was that the main anxiolysis and relaxation from it seemed to be most prominent a full 12 hours or so after the initial dose...I remember waking up the next day after taking phenibut the night prior and feeling amazing all day.

I have a killer opiate problem, man. talking 2G of dope a day type habit, so Kratom would never work for this guy. I am on 16/MG/day Suboxone to HELP ME but still slip up.

I never got into bitcoin/other sites; I heard the pricing was high.

can you PM me for details or can we not do that either?
 
no, I wasnt looking for help that way, man. I meant DL'ing and whatnot of what you mentioned. I am not even sure on how to put it all together. no worries tho, dude. I dont need that crap of need to deal w/ it anyway, you are right. w/ my luck ill get arrested for all the wrong reasons; I can already imagine.

not necessarily that site but that TYPE of Phenibut is by far best I had. have you tried? if not, what are you using? I am always down to check a new brand.
 
How long take to kick in I got a different brand giving this a 2nd shot before I bin it. 1 hour yeah?

Have any of you had bloodwork done after using Phenibut and were your results good?

Were your liver enzymes elevated like they would be from regular drinking?

Was there anything that indicated that it was doing anything bad to your kidneys or any other body part?
 
I've been using phenibut for about 4 months with 2 week long breaks for tolly redux (mildly helpful). Doses have been in the 2-4g a day range.. and am doing fasting blood work this weekend. Will update then seeing as there's partial interest.

yes, all good. I've used Phenibut for a LONG ASS TIME and I see a Dr. every 3 months for all that work for OTHER reasons and everything comes up fine.
 
So does anyone know why some people complain of back pains after taking Phenibut?

Is there any proof that it ISN'T damaging to one's kidneys?

I just got a little bit in the mail but I'm not sure if I'm going to try it.

I need to do more research before I'll even be comfortable trying it once but even if I do it would probably be a rare thing.

I usually start to feel something within 2-3 hours. It really is not even until hour 5-6 that phenibut really peaks for me. I do know people who say they feel it after an hour, but it is not abnormal for it to take a long time!
 
I'm a phenibut addict lol daily for 9 months now. I've tapered down from 3g a day to 850mg. I went to the doctor and had tests done last week and everything came back normal.
 
Pin-Point Great thread very interesting to read and I too suffered the merciless withdrawal of phenibut! It was a special kind of Hell and I did end up in the ER after not sleeping for four days and hallucinating and Severely Anxious (which they then sedated shit out of me with Midazolam :) ), and that was due to me coming off Cold Turkey.

Be warned Phenibut needs to be tapered off very slowly, VERY SLOWLY no cold turkeys.

Dont get me wrong it has its place but, just not sure where?

For me its rapid 30-45mins n its there lasts say who knows 6 hrs?
