why don't you put it in your journal
obvious?
my6 Detox schedule is to Come down from 150mgs by going DOWN 20mgs EVERY OTHER DAY.......... No meetings no NOTHING..... JUST ME AND MY SELF WILLSPUNK said:What is your detox schedule? I'm guessing you arent going down 20mg a day, that would be awful. 20mg a week wouldnt be bad until you got down to about 50mg, and from there I would suggest going down maybe 2mg every other day or 5mg once a week.
About a year ago I, when I had a much smaller tolerance than I have now, I got on 60mg of methadone. After 3 months of maintenance, I started a detox. I did a very gradual one, 2mg every monday. I made it down to 20mg and it really wasn't bad at all. Really the only thing that affected me was the psychological aspect, I kept telling myself that I was sick and that icould tell the difference. Anyways, at 15mg I ended leaving the clinic and hopping back on the train, but if I were to do it again, I think Iwould tell my counselor to do 4-5mg per week, and not tell me the day that the decrease would happen each week.
Anyways, good luck dude and let us know how it goes, also provide more info about your detox schedule and if you are doing anything else during this process (attending IOP, acupuncture, going to NA)

20mg steps down you are most likely going to be pretty uncomfortable
i hope its not to late to change your mind about doing a detox from methadone this fast unless you are ready to jump back on heroin or whatever your drug of choice is

Seriously? You sure thats wise.
Long acting opiates are a bitch to WD from thats for sure.
mikemikemike said:No one reads journals. This also is a very important topic that many Blers need to deal with and need advice on. I agree with the OP that this needs to be in OD rather than journal. Good post, make sure and continue to update. Why are you reducing dosage so quickly?
Nickatina said:Great, you're going back on opiates ... you are the reason why methadone treatment will never work and has never worked in society. More people use it as a safety net than anything. My Mom used to go to the clinic and the people you see there, they get out of the clinic and what do they do? Look to score some dope. They can't get dope? No big deal, going to the clinic anyway.
Don't get me wrong, if you go in there with an honest desire to quit then it is possible, but even then I still think suboxone is the answer as it actually DOES have naloxone in a 1:4 ratio to keep people from banging other shit. Not only that, but going to the clinic every day and waiting around with a bunch of junkies is not the best environment for someone who is trying to quit; it is a lot easier to stay away from that lifestyle if you go home with a script of suboxone and not have to be around those people. I've never met someone who has successfully quit at a methadone clinic - they end up right back even if they finish. Maybe that is why they are called maintenance centers too, because that's all it does for most peoples addictions. But you need to want help in order to be helped - that is truly what it comes down to.
And MC, don't you think that is a little shady to do to your friend if he could actually supply you with that? I would be PISSED if I knew you did that in front of your counselor. At first I thought it was cool that you were going to get off that junk so quick and I was interested to how this would pan out for you but it seems like you are just sending yourself back to the pit. And seeing enough of this shit first hand I don't try to preach, but that script of oxy's aint gunna be enough sooner than later.
