Hello fellow bluelighters. I have a quick question about my lungs. i am an IV heroin user and use everyday. Today i did a shot and about 20 minutes after i did that shot i got a deep chest pain. It felt like my lungs hurt very bad. Now i remember when i was drawing the solution up into my rig i missed the cotton filter a bit so i was just pulling up the solution unfiltered. Now i have heard one of the problems with IVing is particles getting stuck in your lungs. Could pieces of cut or other substances gotten stuck in my lungs and it was made worse by the fact that i didn't filter some of it? Any help is greatly appreciated. Oh BTW i am a pack of day smoker too, but i havn't had chest pains because of it (Yet)

The stuff that builds up in your lungs is small particles and accumulates over time. These also build up in your eyes and are from impurities in the drug (cut, binders, etc).

I have no idea what is causing your pain, hopefully it gets better. If you struggle with breathing, or the pain worsens or does not improve, definitely seek medical advice.

Sounds like the chest pains I get, I am a pack a day smoker as well. I have also had lung troubles previously after an incident with nitrous oxide.

It could be particles in your lungs, monitor it and if it gets worse or sticks around, get medical advice.

I would highly doubt that shooting unfiltered dope and thus particulate matter into your veins would cause any immediate issues, that would usually be a problem that would accumulate over time. If you're having serious chest pains definitely see a doctor, you can never be too safe with something like that.

It could be a cut in the dope causing a negative reaction with your heart or lungs. If the pain persists seek medical attention, and be totally honest about your drug use and your suspected cause of the pain. Good luck, let us know what happens. :)

when having chest pains, no matter where you think they are coming from or what's causing them. HAVE YOUR CHEST CHECKED OUT.. we don't want you having a heart attack because you ignored the 1 sign(chest pains) your body gave you a week before the heart attack... get what im sayin? get to a dr. not an emergency unless you're having great pain, but see a professional and tell them you have experienced chest pains.

If it happens again get it checked out. But shit like this happens to people all the time lol. I guess it does depend a bit on your age too lol?
