One completely legal drug that goes overlooked sometimes is Nicotine. Oh my how many good experinces I had, Nicotine is just always there. It is always just nice. It boost the mood, gives confidence and reassures you of greater tommorow. And my, how many stimulant on opioid experinces I have had enchanced by this guy, it smoothes and makes Amphetamine more pleasant, and potentiate the high of opiates.
Had to get it out there, Nicotine is great, even magical in my opinion.

gives me a headache in the top left side of my head and even pins and needles in my body after developing spinal arthritis from getting hit by a car. i used to enjoy cigarettes... my back has healed a bit after a few years of not smoking, but even smoking a blunt recently gave me a headache for a short period after smoking it. i wish i got the chance to try vapes before my body was messed up.

Being sober now ive fallen in love with nicotine a lot more. I have to agree that it is very overlooked. And the more ive experimented with the more it has surprised me with how euphoric it can be when you dont have a massive tolerance.

I wonder if its just that the novelty of doing intensely euphoric drugs has worn off after so many years and that nicotine in comparison seems much more euphoric because my threshold for what feels ”good” is lower, or is nicotine really that good?

I can recall a few times nicotine has produced profound euphoria (in comparison to what it normally does)

One of them was after masturbating a lot and being in that floaty relaxed post orgasm state and then simultaneously hitting 2 disposable vapes as much as I could with music playing. The result was a 10 minute intense buzz with warm tingles comparable to a low dose of a serotonergic drug and opioidergic drug, cognitive euphoria comparable to a stimulant and intense music enhancement. Imagine a super intense nicotine buzz but significantly more euphoric and lasted an entire 10 minutes. Only ever been able to recreate it 4 or 5 times ever

Another time when I took two 17mg Velo after a t-break while laying in bed with the lights off. Highly intense headspins without nausea, my body went numb and got covered in similar tingles. Followed by a 60 minute afterglow, however significantly more sluggish and gross feeling after the main rush, this one I have been able to replicate around 7 or 8 times or so

However I dont know if it is healthy for me as an addict in recovery to chase these intense experiences even while nicotine is considered ”okay”. It keeps me in some of the same mindset of needing to chase and experience the ”strongest most intense” feeling possible

Has not made me relapse in 5 years at least

It's so good, I'm a volcano blowing smoke rings. I still prefer rolling tobacco over anything else, samson to be specific. I hate the damn pictures they put on the packages now though, horrifying. Vaping makes me choke sometimes, but I'm trying to switch, it's so much cheaper than having to buy a pack of 50 grams a week. Fuck it's all I got left lol.

I like nicotine only if i am on opioids or benzodiazepines. And sometimes right after waking up.
It Is subtle, clean feeling that makes opioids little bit more .... interesting ? Probably just because of synergy resulting in more dopamine released.

Nicotine is a GENUINE Nootropic compound…..and you don’t have to smoke cigarettes.

Nicotine (Nicorette Gun) 2mg & 4mg (strong) gums are Amazing for Nootropic / cognitive enhancement increasing dopamine & acetylcholine in the CNS

It is unique as a nootropic stimulant in that it actually has a calming effect in addition to being a stimulant, enhancing mental sharpness, moderate mood-boosting properties, and much more….

I do in fact smoke cigarettes (Premium Belmont Cigarettes) but also use gum, which you chew but not like normal gum, you’ll tuck the gum under tongue near side of cheek which under the tongue is very rich in blood vessels which allows rapid onset of action of Nicotine into your CNS system through bloodstream

I was extremely angry once and smoked a Belmont cigarette taking deep hauls and holding it in longer and slowly letting smoke stream out …..instantly a powerful calming effect came over my entire mind & body and was calm and relaxed in 5min or less …..amazing I thought

…..and yes, dopaminergic stimulants & opioids are enhanced by Nicotine. In medical journal studies I’ve read also, people who are prescribed dopaminergic stimulants such as Ritalin (Methylphenidate) show an increase of cigarette smoked per day, in addition to opioid narcotic analgesic medications

Acetylcholine is dubbed the “learning neurotransmitter” as it’s necessary for cognitive functioning, memory, processing speed, etc. Dopaminergic drugs obviously we all know their mental enhancing effects.

For a non-smoker….try 2mg Nicorette Gum and chew but allow juices to settle under tongue for maximum rapid absorption and you’ll feel a very noticeable but gentle mental affect, sharpening of the senses, dopamine increase, a calming yet stimulating effect with mild to moderate mood-boosting properties. It’s also a habit forming compound and is addictive as we all know, due to these properties

Nicotine. A genuine nootropic compound, and safe, even good for the aging CNS (in Nicorette Gum)

For a nicotine-naive person I think 2mg would be really unpleasant. Most people get unpleasant nausea, dizziness etc from their first cigarette and they contain way less than 2mg.

I think it's cool that Nicotine acts like a stimulant mentally but a sedative physically.
I probably use too much. I smoke like 30 a day and then vape the equivalent of maybe 10 or 15 more, too.

Depends on the ROA though, 2mg buccally administered is a lot weaker than 2mg smoked. Altough a 2mg nicotine gum might make a first timer dizzy too

I remember my first 8mg tobacco snus as a kid (we start early in sweden) the world was spinning. Nowadays I can take a 43mg siberia and be fine, tolerance is a bitch I probably had close to 10x tolerance before this current t-break Im on…

I took 3/ 5 hit s a day, effectwise it was kinda like they describe Crack.
Never did that, but the bellringer of additive free Virginnia Tabbaco.
Was fiending. \

We parted way s, imo Cytisine the BuprenOrphine for Nicotine.
Deserves a place in modern Medicine, though not physically dependence forming.
Breaking the chain s often impossibe because of boredom.

When you bring in GoldenRain . Cytisine . [fuck Varenicline and dr s !]

In your experience is cytisine as cognitively enhancing as nicotine? Could be useful as a replacement

Nicotine for me is by far the best compound for brain fog without significant drawbacks

First day it felt a lot like it a clean, oral. XR sort of Nicotin.
But as it replaced smoking Tobacco, a ccesation aid.
I never gave it much thought, would it be OTC.

I might have experimented with it some more. But the effect of the first dose.
Was never replicated, so it felt as if it had reached a steady base level.
It might still have enhanced my cognition but the ammount of prescription s.
and drug s at the time was high.
My vision blurred. Worked super for Nicotin. replacement !

I f you try, report back i wonder how other experience its effects.

Should be more or less like Varenicline , imo. Cytisene created a sort of clearness of mind. The first day, akin to the effect s of a good drag of Tobacco after getting High on THC.

I might give them both a try in a few months since Im taking a break from nicotine right now. By then my receptors should be more ”fresh”

Nice , and organized write up

Nicolette gum comes in a fruit flavor ,and mint ,are the only two flavors I have seen. Regardless, I have some old guns from years ago

very cool about acetylcholine

You calming down after doing long inhales while smoking , could have been breath work, it is known to calm ,lower heart rate, relax a person

Have you tried a patch?

Onetime I chewed 2 or 4 mgs,I forget, too fast, and got a headache, due to too intense on set. Chew them pack is how it's done from gum right?

What is causing the calming effect that other stimulates don't seem to cause

In Japan I've read it is or was sold in capsule form

Smoking is one thing i wish i had never picked up. I smoke 2 packs a day im seriously thinking about trying ibogaine to quit

After i got of Nicotin and Cytisine which was a walk in the park. As after stopping smoking Tobacco while taking Tabex the brand the cessation aid was sold as.
From Bulgaria, thank you 'i imagine the woman who sent it was a old lady earning a buck' as Varenicline is prescription only. Not covered so you have to get a prescription.

Meaning your dr. is the roadblock, she offered me a DIY way out. So thank you mystery lady. For covering my ass for a fragment of the cost and no notification i my medical record. :heart6:

Few weeks after i walked by a Butcher/ Grocery store probably Indian or maybe Pakistan. On the counter was a carton container of Betel Nut. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betel_nut_chewing
The active s beehaved very like Nicotine, though i think it s mixed with other flavour and plant s. Arecoline behaved sublingual as Nicotine/ Cytisin in Nootropic effect.

Imo after using the pot in a few month s i felt they were quite alike.
In levelling out my THC high, i literally started smoking less without the balancing effect Nicotine via Tobacco had on the overall high. with Arecoline i could go all out again.

Never had the same pull as Tobacco, when it was empty no fiending !
Did seems to clear brain fog.

"Compared to nicotine, a prototypical nAChR agonist with well-documented addictive potential, arecoline’s addiction liability appears lower (Papke et al., 2015). The study shown arecoline produced the highest CPP response in adolescent or adult mice, respectively (Pi et al., 2023). Arecoline’s psychoactive effects may not heavily rely on modulating synaptic plasticity in the NAc (Huang et al., 2025). However, its regular use among betel quid chewers, often accompanied by psychological dependence, suggests that it may contribute to addictive behaviors through distinct or overlapping mechanisms. Moreover, emerging evidence indicates that arecoline may exert anti-inflammatory effects and influence synaptic plasticity (Chen et al., 2024; Tong et al., 2024), potentially linking its neurobiological actions to both therapeutic and adverse outcomes."

I completely forgot about this… I smoked cigarettes for a week straight after 3 months off and also used snus for 2 days. ”Luckily” Im on vacation now and decided to not use nicotine this week as I dont want to smell smoke around my family. So once I get back I could give varenicline and cytisine a shot without tolerance
