Hello, I am new to this sub-forum, so I have never posted here before. I just wanted to drop by and post something I have been working on the last 3 months.
I was a hardcore, heavy heroin addict for 7-8 years and experimented with other opiates and drugs a good 4-5 years before that. So I have been using drugs for close to ~12 years. I got clean off heroin FINALLY after I don't know how many attempts roughly ~5-6 months ago through a methadone program. Yes I am on methadone daily, but I consider myself clean. I started a blog called Jersey Junk
I love reading blogs about heroin. A lot of people write blogs of heroin use, their addiction, etc. I used to write a lot of shit down when I was using (journal type shit) and then I got 'clean' on methadone 6 months ago. So in May, I decided to take the plunge and start my own heroin blog. I try to keep it anonymous because right now I am giving it out in multiple ways (some I post on the drug boards here obviously know it's me -- alteknj), some I do anonymously, some I just link close friends, etc. So I am trying to get the traffic now, since I have like ~10 posts in 3 months and I had no traffic the first 2 months. So now, I want to start getting people to read it, bookmark it and keep up with it because it's something that I will keep up with for now. I feel good writing it. It helps me in a therapeutic way. I write all types of shit, anything really I feel like -- from old stories when I was using, to just contemplations of the heroin life and being a junkie, how I got clean and on methadone, how I am doing, what I am feeling, what's going on with me, etc. I try to mix it up and keep it fresh and entertaining, serious at times, funny, but also a reminder of why I don't want to go back. I also throw on some of those 'older' journal entries I wrote during the heights of my addiction any number of years ago.
