My heart rate slows down on stims, is this okay?

Hi All,

Just a quick question: (I've tried searching but all that seems to come up is how to slow your heart rate)

Whenever I take stims such as dexies, coke, ice, E, my heart rate doesn't increase at all, and sometimes even slows down a bit. Everyone else I know gets decent increases, so just want to make sure this is safe?

It sits at about 80-100 normally (I think...will have to check this when not high) - yeah I'm pretty unfit at the moment, will hit about 100 usually when I'm pretty high. I've never had it go over 120.

I just want to check in and make sure this is all good.

Cheers

It's not the bodies usual response to stims certainly, usually heart rate is increased. How low does yours drop? 80-100bpm is a normal resting heart rate, athletes tend to have lower ones as the heart muscle is more developed and therefore more efficient. Some people's hearts are more responsive than others; I wouldn't worry too much about yours not increasing on stims as long as it's regular and you don't experience any adverse symptoms such as dizziness, palpitations or chest pain.
