My Health Ins = NO Discount for Opana, too costly w/ new year deductible. Advice?

I couldn't think of a better title. Mods feel free to change if you can think of better, or move if you see fit.

Im assuming that legitimate retail costs of my Rx meds are off limits as well?
Going forward without divulging that information, I was switched to Opana ER mid last-year. I had met my deductible, so was receiving reimbursement checks in the mail for every penny I spent at the pharmacy (otherwise there was no "discount", getting the reimbursement checks were my only means of justifying continuing the use of it considering the efficacy, analgesia, etc.

Well, while I did switch insurance companies, I still have zero discount on the Opana, but the new year has brought on a fresh new deductible. I was quite ill last year and met it quickly, I'm trying to avoid that this year.

I went ahead and paid for my first month's prescription. That said, I don't think I can afford to do it again. I haven't tried calling my insurance company, not sure how much information they could tell me; ie: how much of a discount if I were switched to this, this, or this? Would it be as easy as that if I did call them? Or would my pharmacy have to run dummy-claims?

I've bounced around on IR meds. Started with oxymorph IR. too expensive considering the reimbursement check did take 2-3 weeks to arrive. switched to Morphine. switched to Hydrocodone. now I have just been taking 3x Opana ER 15mg (generic) a day aka every 6-8 hours. So, 45mg Opana ER/day, mixed in with some Hydrocodone at various amounts, sometimes mixed in with some old IR scripts I have laying around, depending on pain level and sometimes just to ease withdrawal as I metabolize Opana quickly, and when my receptors are barren, which happens quickly, I get the dope flu in a hurry.

ANYWAY.

I'm thinking of trying to find it in my budget to hold on to 1-2 10mg Oxymorph IR/day with whatever ER med I go with. However, it's still so pricey, so I may need to consider something else. The hydrocodone was acceptable because the Opana ER took pretty good care of me, however I feel as though im probably going to end up on something like MSContin and will need a better IR med.

So, unless I call and find out otherwise - let's assume my insurane company isnt going to pay jack on any of the hard hitting pain meds.

If someone needs clarification for what kind of money Im talking about, let me know and Ill PM you (greenlighter status has my PM inbox full at any given time, so Il need to clear space).

Otherwise, with economy in mind, but willing to spend a little bit extra on the IR med... what do you think?

Am I headed towards something like 60mg MSContin 2x/day? Obviously there is MSIR for a yet again cheap IR med. But if I wanted to spoil myself a little... aside from oxymorph IR, how about hydromorph IR? Is there a generic for those guys? W/o a foreseeable insruance discount, are they crazy pricey?
I wish I could just give you the $ figure I spend/month on my friggin Opana. is that still not cool even though it's legit?

Thanks all.

Check. Saved the phone # it gave me. I wonder what the income cap is? Im afraid I'm probably over it. I'll call them tomorrow, thanks for that.
