My gf had an ULTRAM seizure last night - PLEASE avoid this stuff

So my girlfriend and I have been on a 2 week break from heroin, and we heard about ULTRAM (tramadol). We started taking it every night to get high. I would take about 450mg and she would take around 750-800mg. I had heard that seizures were NOT ONLY possible, but COMMON on this shit.

So around 6PM, we were sitting on my couch watching a movie. I turn away, and when I turn back. Suddenly, I look at her and she is convulsing, and has stopped breathing. She begins violently shaking, foaming at the mouth, and turns blue. In short: she had a seizure.

I called 911, and luckily they got there in time, and she started breathing again. And in the end, everything turned out ok, and she is alive.

I just wanted to share this with everyone, to let you all know that the danger of an ULTRAM induced sizure, especially at high doses, is ALL to real. I had heard about them happening, and didn't take the warnings seriously.

But trust me people, stick with HEROIN, OXYS, VICS, whatever. Stay away from ULTRAM or generic TRAMADOL. Im only telling you all this so that you wont risk having to relive the same horror that we went through last night. My girlfriend is in PERFECTLY good health, without any history of seizures, yet too much ULTRAM just triggered something in her brain.

Anyways, I was hoping this could stay in "other drugs" just for a bit. I want people in this forum who are thinking about using ULTRAM to perhaps think again.

I have been telling people and so have others for years(tramadol=shit). It's that simple.

And as I type this I'm on 2mg of Xanax(no tolerence) and 30mg of hydrocodone and I feel good!
 
I fully agree. Heroin, morphine, oxys, etc. MUCH safer then tramadol.

Like I said, we were on a break from heroin (been doing 3-4 bundles a week for the past year) and tramadol seemed to subside the intense cravings. But at a cost.

Why the fuck should people stay away from tramadol? Just cause your gf decided to overdose on it? Because she ignored the warning label about the greatly increased seizure risk when taking above 400mg in a 24 hour period? Why the fuck are you blaming tramadol for that? It was stupid as hell to take such a huge dose and its even more stupid that you are surprised that she got a seizure and are now trying to "demonize" the drug.

Stay away from ignorance...
 
I agree with thetruth, although I sympathize with you about what happened. But you have to ask yourself, did you have a seizure also? No? But if you took tramadol too? Your GF prolly did because she nearly took a gram of it. I won't lecture you, but just cause someone got into a car crash, does it mean we should all stop driving?
 
I do feel bad for what happened to you and your GF, but you cannot blame Ultram for giving her a seizure. You gave us very little info about how much was taken prior to that night, and she did go way over the recc dose of 400mg in 24 hours max. Take personal responsibility for your actions. Even printed on the insert that comes with this medication is a warning not to exceed the dose of 400mg in a 24 hour period. due to risk of seizure.
 
800mg is way too much bro, people need to start, i dont know, taking shit responsibly? sorry to hear what happened and all, but i just find it funny hearing someone say, fuck ultram stay away from that shit, but heroin oxys and shit like that are way safer.. Oxymoron maybe??
 
Ok with that amount you should be thanking yourself she's still alive instead of telling us to stay away from it.
For god sakes people read up on your drugs before putting them in your bodies. Common sense.
 
I've used tramadol in dangerous doses countless times, now that my tolerance is on the roof I've gotten to the point I took 700 mgs in 3 hours.
I've been playing a russian roulette, because the most possible outcome is that I come out of it unharmed.
This is a wake up call for me.

Yeah it was my fault I took a lot. But you have to use more of it than what the warning label says to abuse it. Please, if you didn't exceed your dose on oxycontin and followed the label, do you think you will get high? Yes it was stupid as hell to take such a high dose, but I must admit that I'm even stupider to take this joke of a drug to begin with. How can I go from doing every drug there is, bundles of heroin for almost a year every weekend, and shooting up coke to this shit? Sorry buddy didn't mean to demonize the drug. But I was desperate. But fuck it, my heroin break is over! And FYI, since you are so stuck on the warning label, seizures have been reported within the recommended dose. Most people here who will stick up for this drug are non-hard users... not even soft drug users.. more like baby drug users. Most likely if you like tramadol you are one pathetic fuck, you probably don't know what a real high is. Are you 12 years old in search of legal highs?
 
Whats wrong with Heroin? I've been doing this for a year now and I have never landed in the ER. Even after a year of heroin use I'm still a good kid, supporting my own habit without stealing and fucking people over.

I do this TRAMADOL shit for 2 weeks with the same dosage each time and I already got into medical trouble.

Aiken Drum: You should stop at the rate you are going, sooner or later you will get one. I took 750-800 almost everyday for 2 weeks, thinking it would never happen since it didn't happen the first 10 times.. well it happened. Seizurs happen even within the reccommended dose.

I don't know much about seizures but the doctor said it is when your heart is still beating but you're no longer breathing, depriving your brain of oxygen. If no one is there to help you, you might swallow your tongue and die. Sorry I don't know much more about it, considering brain damage, etc., but if your brain is deprived of oxygen, it doesn't sound like a good thing. Another thing is, its totally painless. I don't remember ANYTHING.

Aiken Drum, you should stop doing tramadol, it really is a horrible high to begin with. If you don't stop now soon you will be scared into stopping. My boyfriend won't touch this shit anymore after seeing what a bad sight I was.
 
I'd just like to add (in keeping with the de-demonization of tramadol) that Ultram has been shown to help OCD patients (obsessive compulsive disorder, eh) in REASONABLE (I think like 35-40 milligrams) doses...

maybe you wouldent be such a bad sight if you used your head...high doses of tramadol cause seizues. wha tthe fuck else do you need to know. dont blame tramadol blame yourself for needing to get high so bad you risked a seizure.
 
I like how you assume Im probably a baby drug user who only drinks and smokes. Whatever, I used to fuck around with smack, whatev. But when I hear a wreckless attitude like yours, you say I was desperate, and you have to abuse doses etc.. abuse a dose of what we in baltimore like to call good heroin, and you will be dead. Im just tryin to say 3-4 bundles(whatev those are) a week seems like alotta dope to be doing.

I'm not asking for your sympathy you stupid cunt. I know I took a lot and I'm not fucking asking people to feel bad for me. I know I took a high dose, but you usually take higher doses in order to get high. If you love tramadol so bad so take it. Who the fuck cares. Most likely if you are a dumb kid just wanting a cheap legal high, tramadol might be the best thing for you, if you find them recreational at all. But if you have a high opiate tolerance, or ANY tolerance at all, don't take it. Any like I said, seizures have been reported to even reccommended doses.

These damn kids get so offensive once you degrade their legal highs. There should be a kiddie forums where you bitches can go rave about tramadol and report your robo-tripping.
