Now, let me start by saying that i am a regular cannabis user and i have been taking an ssri for about 2 months now. Now, i have wanted to do mdma for a LONG time now. And, ive finally gotten my hands on a reliable person. my best friend recently took one of the pills from the dealer i found and he said they were the most amazing things ever. They are 75% mdma speed based. now, i have never done mdma, obviously, but i have read that if you are on an everyday regiment of an ssri, if you take mdma it will not be as good and it will FUCK your brain. But i have also read a bunch of erowid reports of people taking ecstasy while on an ssri regiment and they said its amazing and nothing bad happened at all.i take 75 mg of sertraline every morning to treat my anxiety, (let me say that this is just generalized anxiety disorder, no panic attacks, nothing too serious). i just want to know the truth, would it be a bad idea to take mdma, or does it really matter

If you are able to go for a period without taking any sertraline, I'd suggest doing that before rolling. If not, it's your decision. Some people react badly and some people react just fine. I would, however, suggest obtaining tested MDxx-only pills.

this is going form mainly what i;ve read around this site so dunno how truthful it is - but ssri's = bad joojoo to me

If you take MDMA while on an SSRI, it won't "fuck your brain", but you likely won't roll.

SSRIs work by blocking the serotonin reuptake transporter (SERT); this basically causes serotonin to accumulate in your brain since once it's released it can't be reuptaken back into the neuron that released it. It ends up sitting in the synaptic cleft, repeatedly stimulating your serotonin receptors until it's metabolized. MDMA works in a similar way by binding to SERT, but it reverses the transporter rather than blocking it, causing a flood of serotonin (as well as dopamine and norepinephrine, since it reverses DAT and NET too) to fill your brain.

The problem is that SSRIs and MDMA have to compete for the same binding site. SSRIs generally have higher binding affinity for SERT, so they win out and you end up not rolling (at least not in the full sense, since you'll still get the mild DA/NE kick). The exact results of taking MDMA and an SSRI can depend on a number of factors: the binding affinity of your particular SSRI, your dose of both the SSRI and the MDMA, the SSRI's half-life, your sensitivity to an increase in serotonin, etc. The result of this is that *some* people can take MDMA while on an SSRI and still end up "rolling" (keep in mind this is a subjective term, especially if you've never done it before), but the majority end up either having a muted roll or not rolling at all. :\

As for the "fucking your brain" thing: if you're taking an SSRI it's pretty likely that you're suffering from anxiety or depression. While an SSRI + MDMA won't necessarily worsen this, taking MDMA at all when you have a mental health condition may cause it to get worse.

Finally, I urge you not to abruptly discontinue your medication. Abruptly discontinuing an SSRI can lead to a host of side effects collectively called SSRI discontinuation syndrome. You mentioned that your anxiety isn't bad, so I doubt you're going to have an episode if you discontinue, but there are plenty of people abruptly who go off of their medication and end up having a severe depressive bout or a panic attack. If you do want to discontinue your SSRI, talk to your doctor gradually decreasing your dose, and what kind of treatment you want to explore (if any) in its place.

so would you reccomend i take mdma at all? or would it just completely be a waste of time and money

You could attempt it. You're not taking a huge dose of sertraline, so there may be some chance that you'll roll.

Why don't you talk to your doctor about other ways to manage your anxiety? Taking sertraline for mild anxiety seems like overkill in my opinion. Good luck with whatever you choose to do, in any case. :)

How do you know there is a 75-25 mix of mdma and speed? Without having the gear lab tested thats just not possible.

RGB has nicely wrapped up the science of ssri and mdma.

ssris can make very long term changes to the brain so even many months after stopping, most people say they still cant feel anything from mdma.

I would suggest it will be a complete waste of money.

Idk, my dealer just said that although i doubt that is even true or even possible, but i know some friends who have taken them from this guy and apparently some of the best tabs in dallas. But ive only been taking sertraline for like 2 to 3 months and for the first month i was dosed at 50 mg then ive been takin 75 mg for about three weeks now. Im gonna try it anyway, that it the only way to find out if it will do anything to me.

well, even though the ssris block most of the serotonin induced effects, wont i still experience the dopamine and the norepinephrine effects as well as some of the serotonin effects? im sure the experience wont be as full blown intense but an experience nonetheless
