So my friend fritz slipped in a very unhealthy drug habit. We already called paramedics once when he stopped responding. The second day was the same situation so we sent a friend there.
He was ok both times. The third time he stopped responding in the middle of a call. He passed out on the sideway. I call that an OD. His phone, passport, medi card, etc got stolen when he woke up.
So his friends teamed up and met at a friends place with fritz to trying to get him to stabilize himself somewhat. Getting him a new phone, new passport, etc but that only makes sense when he doesn't lose them again next time he gets fucked up. I tried to navigate him to my friends place, which was a night mare and involved several borrowed phones, etc. When we finally found fritz nearby he had lost his bag. This bag contained his belongings including his laptop. We went searching for that bag and after sweeping some streets we indeed managed to find it. Lucky him.
I do have considerable experience in harm reduction. I've seen a lot but this is the deadliest drug combo I've encountered and he is doing it on a daily basis. Im giving him a week or two if he continues.
He already ODed once. So…. what can we do? I was thinking trying to get him out of his environent and staying with well meaning friends for a while, get him into a semi-baseline mind state and hold an intervention? He says he is not addicted to the benzo and never had been despite heavy use in the past. So that's a plus. He doesn't have a crippling, long lasting benzo disorder but he is at least psychologically addicted to the alcohol. The pregabalin? Should probably not be that dangerous with the morphine, at least on its own but who knows what happens when you add like 4 different other downers to that.
So yeah, some feedback, experience , cautionary tales and tips would be greatly appreciated. I really am worried that he loses everything the next time he gets fucked up again which would make our efforts fucking futile.
