My doctor is evil and has prescribed me the following

My doctor has me on many dependency causing drugs. it is becoming hard to manage my life with so many addictions while keeping level head in tact. what drugs does your doctor have you on?
My doctor has given me a prescription for the following drugs which I am currently taking (almost every one is addictive and/or causes dependency)

-baclofen
-adderall ir (amphetamine salts)
-tramadol
-Klonopin
-temazepam
-Lyrica
-Gabapentin
-Xanax (occasionally)

I'd like to hear what your pusher er doctor, rather has you on at the same time.
Advice for each other on how to successfully get out of such complex poly drug dependencies safely? I wouldn't mind getting some advice and I don't mind giving some.

because if I stop seeing him I will instantly be in severe withdrawal from baclofen, clonazepam, temazepam, tramadol, Neurontin, lyrica, amphetamine, and more.

thats alright, if you see another doctor and they know what you are prescribed and you can trust them, they could help you in the process of tapering off what medications you want to stop taking.

if you talk to another dr and they say, "well i didn't prescribe this so you will just have to go cold turkey off everything", they are most likely not very smart.

I agree, but many doctor's these days wouldn't want to even touch a case like mine. it's way too complicated and they probably just see lawsuit above my head.
I'm not sure my doctor would kick me off cold turkey, but it's a chance I'm afraid to take!

ohk, i see

id think however that it wouldn't hurt to talk to a few different dr's or see if you know anyone that can make a recommendation? if you feel unhappy with your current doctors way of treating you.

if you ask for help, theres a better chance of getting it than assuming everyone wouldn't care.
 
you're taking two benzos, and two anti-convulsants. he's overprescribing. a lot.

This. And overprescribing benzos at that, which is ridiculously idiotic and dangerous down the road when you need to come off of them. Do you find that you are legitimately in need of your entire script for each benzo? If you can and it's not harmful to you, I would take as little of the temazepam/klonopin/Xanax as possible, but only if it's something you can do without any adverse effects. And please have an honest conversation with your doctor about your concerns.
 
why are you complaining no one is forcing you to take the drugs i would drop the well nothing get them all filled and use for recreation. i hate when people get docs that prescribe everything then complain drugs are being pushed on then. guess what THAT IS THE DOCTORS JOB to push drugs on you dont like it talk to tom cruise.

Oh my god what complete and utter idiocy.

First of all, he's complaining cause he's addicted to multiple substances at once and can't get off them.

Second, it is NOT a doctor's job to "push drugs on you", it is their job to help keep you healthy phyiscally and mentally which this doctor is NOT doing.

Now, granted, I wish I had access to some of those substances but that's neither here nor there.
 
I take temazepam for sleep (30mg) for years...I skip days and even weeks without issues (maybe a little insomnia, which is why I'm prescribed)...have you asked why you need all these?
 
It sucks that the OP is now dependent on all of these drugs, but it's a choice in the end. In this information age that we live in, I see little excuse in not doing some rudimentary research on the drugs prescribed before taking them. Most of the information that gets tossed around on this forum can be located in less than ten seconds through google or wikipedia... There seems to be little ambiguity left regarding the addictive/dependence-provoking nature of things like benzodiazepines, amphetamines and to a much lesser extent the pregabalin.

On that note, I don't think that you're doctor is necessarily evil, but he's being pretty irresponsible with his writing practices. He's probably in it for the money, sure, but it's a two way street. He can only sign the paper, you're the one that has to actually consume the pills. My pharmacist wouldn't even let me pick up gabapentin after I had been switched to pregabalin.

Maybe find another doctor, or facility that can help you get off of the benzodiazepines safely.
 
Temazepam and pregabalin.

I'm off temazepam other than taking one maybe once a week but I'm still 3.5 years deep into a Lyrica dependence.
 
Jesus tap-dancing Christ... So your doctor is either a moron, getting kickbacks from drug companies, so used to writing scripts on demand for fakers and pill poppers that he's totally forgotten how do to responsible polypharmacy, or (as you suggested) evil. If you can replace him with someone saner I would advise that you do so posthaste, and then talk with them about tapering you down off of everything in a manner that won't cause ugly withdrawals. Failing that, you can probably start tapering down off one or two substances at a time. The typical way to taper daily meds is to reduce your daily dose in increments of a few milligrams (typically half a pill or a pill depending on what exactly you're taking), then hold the new dose for a few days to a week at a time before stepping down again. How big the increments are and how often you step down are up to you, but I'd advise starting fairly conservatively and then getting more aggressive if you feel you can take it. For as-needed meds, start steadily reducing the dose you reach for each time you need them, even if that causes you some degree of discomfort. I would also advise tapering one substance or class of substances at a time; I'd start with the benzos. I'm not sure how to taper questionable anticonvulsants; I'd advise finding a doctor who can help with that. Once you get off the benzos and the anticonvulsants, then address the Adderall.
 
i am addicted to multiple substances you know what i do take breaks if that is not an option for the OP then change doctors
 
It may be too late for OP, but let this be a lesson to all future readers. DO RESEARCH on the drugs you're being prescribed, before you take them. Know exactly what your doctor is giving you and why.

Its sad to say, but there are crooked/Idiot doctors who prescribe lethal combos every day. You have to lookout for yourself. Educate yourself and be safe !
 
I was prescribed tramadol and lorazepam together. Both are respiratory depressents and I have extremely bad asthma.

Withdrawaled from the trams and my doc wouldn't help. Said he never heard of anyone withdrawling from it. Then withdrawaled from the lorazepam. Hate my doc aka drug pusher. I get whatever I ask for....it's ridiculous but amazing.
 
I had a Psych APRN prescribe me citalopram (Selexa) while I was on Methadone. This combination carries a double-black box warning as both drugs can contribute to cardiological complications, specifically, prolonging of the heart's QT interval. Do I hate her? No, but I do believe that she has no business prescribing anyone medicine.
