my dad speaks normally during the day. then at nighttime he stays up late on the phone pressing random numbers and shit and speaking in a launguage i dont understand. Also his speach is heavily impared. to the point which he soudns like a person with down syndrome. in his chest, he has a multitude of pills, opiates, benzos, sleeping aids, and this random brownsih powder which he puts in big capsules. i need to know what he is upto ,because im going to sit down and have a chat wiht him because i think its geting seriously out of controll

He's probably on a concoction of any number of the pills you found in his drawer.

No one here will be able to tell you what hes on, you'll just have to ask him when you confront him. If he denies it you could consider telling him what you found in his drawer and then asking what hes on, because your concerned for his health and safety.

wait till he comes home,

you act massively wasted, maybe lying on your side drooling,

and tell him you ate his brown powder and think you're ODing.

^ Don't fuck with him like that.

arseyRC: the OP is seeking serious advice.

i was serious, obviously the OP should try talking to him first

if his drug use is getting out of control and negatively affecting his family he needs a big shock to the system. Thinking your kid just Over-dosed on your Drugs would certainly be a wake-up call.

Or maybe even a trigger for further substance abuse?

In my experience that's what 'shocks to the system' tend to do. Don't get me started on 'tough love' while you're at it... :\

We can't tell you what he's using or how to approach the situation and this really isn't appropriate for OD. All you can do is try to communicate your concerns, preferably when he's more coherent but its ultimately out of your hands.

You may want to contact community counseling or addiction treatment agencies and speak to someone about how to most effectively communicate with him. Absolutely do not try to pretend OD to "scare him"- that's a HORRIBLE idea that could have so many possible unintended consequences.

As I said, this really doesn't belong in Other Drugs but if you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
