This is the 10 mg/mL cherry syrup rather than the 1 mg/mL orange tang mix I've been getting.

Here's the thing. After five minutes of research online, literally EVERYBODY has said the red Methadose is either inferior, not as long lasting, no euphoria even if stockpiling doses, etc. I went to pharmacy school, and I know for a fact that it MUST be the same product by law. 70 mg methadone is 70 mg methadone. Yes, binders and fillers may differ but I can't imagine this having a large effect on metabolism. I'm guessing that a lot of this has to do with the placebo effect. For one, it's less volume that what people are used to creating the illusion of a lower dose. Also, many people have been on the other for years, so any change would be viewed with skepticism.

What are your opinions on this??

I took 7 ml just over an hour ago, and I'm starting to get a really strong high. Then again I DID just increase my dose to 70 from 50 so that's likely why..right?

Odds are its not much of a difference and people are just not happy about change. Change makes people uncomfortable and they are more likely to be concerned about the possible negative impact of it than any possible positives it has.

One one thought that could be a factor is the pH of the solution, as it can have a drastic impact on absorption rates with opioids. Maybe the methadose has some inactives(or lack there of) that are lowering the pH to inadequate levels for absorption.

check this study out, might give you a way to help combat the issue with the new solution, if it does prove to be less effective:

It's all going to be the same shit. I don't understand why you would try to get high off done, however. Not here to preach, as I'm sure you already know how painful it will be to get off. Be safe, 70mg methadose = 70mg methadone.

They did this to me years ago, personally I did notice a difference and my dose went up after the switch.

Thanks guys. I'm not TRYING to get high on it per se, it just happens with my usual dose since I'm so new to the program. I'm just happy I no longer have to worry about withdrawals. That's a GODSEND.

1mg/ml orange tang mixture? Do you know what the brand was of the old stuff they were using? I've just never heard of orange 1mg/mL.

At my old clinic in Colorado we had Mallinckrodt 10mg/mL unflavored clear (disgusting taste) liquid 'done but they had a kool aid dispenser at the dosing window so we could add that to our dose and it wouldn't taste so horrible. But that stuff lasted forever and was strong my highest dose was 85mg and I had a pretty decent dope+oxy habit so when the first day I got 40mg and I was high/buzzed all day I was quite surprised.

But now at my clinic here in IL, we've had liquid cherry 10mg/mL the whole time they've been open and that I've been a patient (i have been a patient since 20 days after they opened). However, the brand is VistaPharm and to be honest I find it to be pretty weak. I don't get it. All of the clinic's stuff is vistapharm brand. The liquid, their white 40mg wafers, and their 10mg and 5mg tabs. Oddly enough, the VisfaPharm 40mg wafers are double scored white circular and have "E 132" (i.e. They are the sandoz wafers and 10mg tabs ("E 131") ...not sure about the 5mg tabs I can NOT find a pic anywhere on the Internet of vistapharm 5mg or 10mg methadone tablets, very odd.

Anyway, I just always thought this VistaPharm is some like generic MMT/narcotic product line made by some major parent pharma company. Kind of like how Pfizer is the parent company for Greentstone generics.
I found the VP Brand methadone to just be weak. I mean hell, I went all the way up to 145mg without ever attaining the "buzz" that the Mallie liquid gave me even as low as 40-60mg.

There are people on ridiculous doses with no apparent issues... One guy is on like 330mg and there are several patients over 200, tons over 100, many at 150-ish, etc. I'm currently at 90mg but it doesn't carry the full 24 hours.

I don't know. I had never heard of vistapharm before this clinic, only methadose, Mallie liquid, Roxane, etc. As far as the FDA and our nurse and clinic pharmacists are concerned, it's all the EXACT same as the other brands, but patients beg to differ.

I've Heard Methadose is among the best liquid used in clinics. It's name brand and therefore more expensive I would think, not sure, but I still want a link to the stuff they were giving you guys before.

Hopefully things stay the same and you have good luck with it

This is just speculation, closing this.

There's various "brands" of methadone concentrate out there, which one your clinic uses is regionally dependant. All of them are meant to be equivalent, there's not anything in the syrups/concentrates that could really interefere with methadone's absorbtion.
