Opioids my brother is starting suboxone

I plan to show this thread to my mom.

My 18 year old brother has been doing oxy and possibly H and its gotten bad to where he is stealing from us and has no money despite having a job. He didn't want to quit, but basically got kicked out after he forged checks of my moms, took out loans, stole stuff of mine and he's been refusing help and saying he could do it on his own forever, which never happened. But the constant stealing was the final straw. He refuses in-patient rehab. So my mom asked how his choice is on quitting if he wants to stay at home. He said suboxone. So today he is starting on 4mg of suboxone and tapering I believe. I know its a 6 week process.

Anyways I'm curious if anyone has used, or known anyone that has used suboxone and how it worked. Or if you guys have any suggestions or recommendations. Also is it true he can't get high on other opiates if he's on this?

I will keep you updated how this goes. If anyone has any questions or tips feel free to post.
