So my 48 year old never-touched-drugs mother was in my car the other day, and pointed to a box of nangs on the floor that I had forgotten about. She said, in no uncertain terms, not to inhale those things as they were bad for you. I shrugged and continued with our conversation.

How long have these things been around for? I was under the impression that they were a relatively new invention from the last 15 years or so, but my mother recognised them instantly. She was at uni in the mid-to-late 80s, maybe she came across them then?

^ she was probably hitting them back in the day! I suspect she might of not enjoyed them so much.

Sounds like she thinks they are CO2 bulbs for softdrink.
Some of the glass mixers have been around for 30 years.

...i know people older than 48 that do nangs.
its kind of that young thing of "young people didn't invent drugs" (or sex or whatever the case may be).
drugs have been a fixture in australian culture since at least the 70s. most people under the age of 60 most likely know what cannabis smells like for example.
plus, 48 is pretty young IMO.

My ~45 yo dad apparently used to do nangs back when he was fresh out of high school. Completely forgot about them until he tagged along to rainbow serpent this year o.0
I was completely put to shame - he slept less, spent more time on the dance floor, took more MDMA and had more sex than me. (and I bought my girlfriend...) :|

Old timers did and still do go hard. Bet someone on here has a grandma who does nangs.

yeah, cream chargers have been around for a long time. hell, i've been doing them for close to 15 years and i'm only 28.

I woul guess that nangs have been around for a fair while. I can't say for exactly how long and didn't turn up much with a very quick search. People of all ages do drugs man, even if she didn't do drugs it would be reasonable for her to of picked up this information somehow its not like some super secret. Buying nitrous from kitchen ware stores there are quite a number of older ladies working there who tend to know what you are up to, I am sure its not unheard of for them to complain about the little 'druggies' who come in and buy the shit to their friends.

I am closing this thread because I really don't think the fact your mum knows what nangs are is interesting enough to warrant its own thread.
