So, as I imagine you have all heard, MXE is being made illegal from thursday the 5th of April.
I myself never had any experience with this drug, and I was wondering if I should try some before it's made illegal.

What do you think about the ban? Justified? Not justified?
Also, what are the effects of this drug and would it be worth it to give it a... last goodbye?

I live in the US so the ban doesnt really effect me.

do I think its justified? From a drug user's standpoint no not at all. A couple kids drowned while on mxe and alcohol and suddenly there was a huge call by media and parents for it to be banned. it is very tragic that those kids lost their life because of drugs but mxe wasnt the only factor. They were also drunk but no one is trying to outlaw alcohol. People die everyday from all kinds of things besides drugs but only certain subtances are singled out because the general public still believes that all drugs are evil besides the ones the government says are okay (which coincidentally are some of the most toxic and damgaing to society).

But from the other side I can see why its been banned. This drug has been getting far too much attention for the past couple of years, just look at the size of the big & dandy threads on this site. it was only a matter of time until something bad happened to someone. Its a very powerful substance that is active in fairly small amounts and it can (or could) be easily ordered over the internet by people who dont know what theyre ingesting, they just want to get fucked up. The media of course fuels the fire also, with their outlandish attempts to stir up fear of drugs: "new drug MEXXYY KETAMETHOXY ROFLCOPTER IS THE NEWEST DRUG EPIDEMIC!" and suddenly every parent in the world makes it their life long goal to get it banned.

As for the effects of the drug, it is a dissociative, in the same family of drugs as ketamine and pcp. Check erowid or this site for more info on its effects.

In what country would be good information.

Hell yeah it's been getting a lot of attention. I'll admit that MXE brought me into the RC games in late February of this year. It's one of the reasons why I signed up on Bluelight. I'm trying my best not to contribute to all of the attention MXE it's been getting... mainly by not getting caught with it or getting someone killed. I feel very, very sorry for the two that died on MXE and alcohol. They didn't deserve to die that way, but that just shows how easy it is to "ruin the fun" for everyone else. Of course the media was going to jump on this one. And once the media gets attention, the government takes notice. What a hot mess!

I'm sorry, that totally slipped my mind.
The ban is taking place in the UK.

Yeah, you scared the shit out of me this morning. I immediately did some Google News searches to make sure this wasn't some new ban in the US.

I will shed some tears when the US bans mxe. Hopefully, similar compounds will be released. Maybe ones that are actually desirable unlike what happened to 4-MMC, bk-mdma, and mdpv where all of the copycats are complete shit except for maybe 5-methyl-ethylone from what I hear except that just came out.

Discuss this in the DiTM thread about the UK ban

Also, what are the effects of this drug

Please consult the B&D MXE thread and any relevant subthreads to answer any questions you have about the substance. It shouldn't be too hard to read some descriptions there or in Trip Reports.
